    摘要: A backlight unit that includes: an outer container; a curved fluorescent lamp that is contained in the outer container and includes two electrodes and a glass bulb that has (i) a folded portion and (ii) two straight portions that extend in parallel with each other from the folded portion, and the two electrodes being respectively attached to two ends of the glass bulb; and an inverter operable to supply power for lighting to the curved fluorescent lamp. The inverter is disposed outside the outer container, and the curved fluorescent lamp is arranged so that the electrodes are at low positions and the folded portion is at a high position in the outer container when the backlight unit is erected vertically in use.

    摘要: A method for analyzing platelets is described. In the method, a measurement sample is prepared by mixing a sample and a dye for staining platelets. The dye is selected from the group consisting of Capri blue, Nile blue and brilliant cresyl blue. Upon irradiating cells in the measurement sample with light, scattered light and fluorescence emitted from the cells are measured. The platelets are detected on the basis of the scattered light and the fluorescence. A reagent kit and a reagent are also described.

The digital data processor includes: an weighted addition circuit which is operable to perform weighted addition on at least the input signal and a signal being time-shifted with respect to the input signal and output as a weighted added input signal; an arithmetic shift circuit which is operable to perform an arithmetic rightward shift operation on the weighted added input signal for a predetermined number of shifts and output as a processed input signal; a bit extension circuit which is operable to attach a predetermined bits to an LSD side of the input signal to generate an intermediate signal of M bits; and an addition circuit which is operable to perform addition of the intermediate signal and the processed input signal so as to generate the M-bit output signal.

    摘要: There is provided a method for classifying and counting leukocytes with abnormal DNA amount, which comprises: (1) a step of staining cells in a sample obtained from a hematological sample by treatment with a hemolytic agent to lyse erythrocytes, with a fluorescent dye which can make a difference in the fluorescence intensity at least among mature leukocytes, leukocytes with abnormal DNA amount and immature leukocytes; (2) a step of introducing the sample containing the stained cells into a flow cytometer to measure scattered light and fluorescence of the respective cells; (3) a step of classifying leukocytes and coincidence cells/platelet clumps utilizing a difference in the intensity of a scattered light peak and a difference in the scattered light width; (4) a step of classifying and counting mature leukocytes, leukocytes with abnormal DNA amount and immature leukocytes, utilizing a difference in the scattered light intensity and a difference in the fluorescence intensity of leukocytes classified in the step (3).

The outer electrode unit comprises a plurality of outer electrodes (4b) arranged intermittently in the axial direction of the tube and having a part abutting on the outer wall face of the light emitting tube, and a part (4c) engaging with the light emitting tube while coupling the outer electrodes thereof integrally, wherein the engaging part clamps the light emitting tube at a part thereof thus holding the outer electrode unit around the light emitting tube. The light emitting tube is lighted by applying a voltage between the inner electrode and the outer electrode. The outer electrode can be fixed readily to the light emitting tube and the plurality of outer electrodes can be held against the light emitting tube with high accuracy.
