摘要: A system and related methods of preventing wrong-site surgeries and blade-related injuries to OR personnel, which includes a computer software system (for use on computers or hand-held devices in the medical environment) in combination with a surgical supply carrier (such as a safety blade-dispenser or other surgical sharps dispenser). The surgical supply carrier comprises at least one component, such as a label, which prevents or impedes a surgeon from accessing one or more surgical instruments stored within until after a “time-out” is performed by the surgeon or authorized OR personnel to confirm various details including but not limited to correct patient, correct procedure, correct equipment, etc, before starting the intended surgical procedure. Data can be captured throughout the medical environment (from “decision-to-incision” and beyond) to assess wrong-site surgery data (including “near miss” data) and enable a host of analytics on wrong-site surgery prevention.

摘要: One variation of a method for tracking objects within a surgical space during a surgery includes: based on a first image depicting the surgical space at a first time, detecting a first object and a constellation of objects in the surgical space, estimating distances from each object—in the constellation of objects—to the first object, and calculating a contamination risk of the first object based on contamination scores and distances to the first object for each object in the constellation of objects; calculating a contamination score of the first object based on a combination of the contamination risks of the first object during the surgery; and, in response to the contamination score of the first object exceeding a threshold contamination score prior to contact between the first object and a patient, serving a prompt within the surgical space to address sterility of the first object.

摘要: The subject matter disclosed herein relates to systems, methods and/or devices for calibrating sensor data to be used in estimating a blood glucose concentration. A relationship between sensor measurements and reference readings may be used to estimate a relationship between sensor measurements and blood glucose concentration. Such sensor measurements may be weighted according to a decreasing function of uncertainty associated with sensor values.

摘要: Techniques for configuring one or more applications based on a detected wakefulness state of a user are disclosed. A system trains and applies a machine learning model to wakefulness data to compute a wakefulness state of a user. The system obtains the wakefulness data from wearable devices worn by the user and environmental devices in a user's environment. The system configures applications and/or devices based on the computed wakefulness state of the user. The system configures the ability of devices or applications to generate visual, audible, or tactile notifications in response to determining that a user is awake or asleep.

摘要: A method for performing quality control on a diagnostic analyzer includes receiving control measurement values from each of a plurality of diagnostic analyzers. A quality control measurement value is received from a target diagnostic analyzer. The quality control measurement value is compared with statistical criteria associated with the plurality of quality control measurement values received from the plurality of diagnostic analyzers. A comparison result is communicated to a user interface associated with the target diagnostic analyzer.

摘要: A system and process for dynamically managing a procedure. The system includes a data collection device(s) that objectively monitor a subject and transmit such information to the system and real time position components that report on the availability of an individual(s) to perform the procedure. The system reviews the information, provides a subject diagnosis and recommends equipment. The system can also schedule and monitor the procedure. The individual(s) performing the procedure have the option of consulting with relevant experts and visually interacting with the experts.

摘要: Systems and methods for monitoring physiological monitoring systems are described herein. A communication interface module can be configured to receive from a physiological monitoring system first data based on a snapshot taken of a status of the physiological monitoring system at a first time. A memory module can be configured to store the first data and a baseline associated with the physiological monitoring system. A processor module can be configured to compare the first data with the baseline and to generate a notification if the first data deviates from the baseline by a predetermined amount. A display module can be configured to display a physical location of a plurality of physiological monitoring systems and display the notification.

摘要: In some embodiments, a clinician programmer device for controlling a deep brain stimulation (DBS) system is adapted to assist a clinician to conduct an electrode screening review for the DBS system including screening of segmented electrodes. The clinician programmer stores software code for conducting a screening review in memory. The software code may comprise: code for providing one or more interface screens for guiding the user of the device through testing of electrode configurations of the implantable stimulation lead, wherein the code for providing applies at least one testing progression for guiding the user of the device through a defined testing order.

摘要: A system and method for monitoring the inventory of a medical storage container such as a tray that has a required inventory of medical articles. An enclosure is used to isolate, scan, and take an inventory of the tray or other container of medical articles. The tray and each of the medical articles in the tray have RFID tags. The enclosure having a size differing from the size needed for a resonant frequency at the RFID frequency of operation of the tags. A probe is used to create a robust electromagnetic field standing wave of constructive interference in the enclosure and a program compares the scanned present inventory of the tray to the required inventory database and indicates any differences. Expired and recalled articles and substitutes for recalled articles are identified.

摘要: There is provided a method involving a portable medical device (1), being carried by a user and a mobile phone (2) carried by the same user, the method comprising the steps of a) the mobile phone (2) at a time point (first time point) determining a geographical position of the mobile phone (2), and providing the geographical position and the first time point to a server (4) via a data connection, or the mobile phone (2) having its position determined by the cell network (3), and the cell network (3) providing the position and the first time point to the server (4), then b) the server (4) using the position and the time point to retrieve position-specific data for the time point, then c) the server (4) using a the data from step b. to determine whether the medical device should be serviced or replaced. There is also provided a system, a server and a mobile phone.
