Abstract:
A metering valve has a closable discharge opening from which liquid drops can be discharged, wherein a beam device is provided which generates electromagnetic radiation.
Abstract:
Methods for coating medical devices for implantation within a body vessel are provided comprising providing a cylindrical container, placing a medical device inside the cylindrical container, and applying a polymer in liquid form inside the container.
Abstract:
The sliding property at the inner peripheral surface of a syringe body is improved by means of a simple configuration, and smooth and stable slidability can be ensured for a gasket. A syringe (1) is equipped with a synthetic resin syringe body (3) for injecting a liquid (L), a plunger (5) for pushing out the liquid (L) that was injected into the syringe body (3), and a gasket (9) which is attached to the tip (7) of the plunger (8), wherein the inner peripheral surface (14) of the syringe body (3) is coated with a silicone, and is subjected to corona discharge treatment after the syringe body (3) is coated with silicone.
Abstract:
There is provided a suction system for use in a method of lining the internal surface of a pipe, said suction system comprises a pig receiving device to be attached to an open end of the pipe, a liquid receiving tank connected with the pig receiving device, and a suction pump connected with the liquid receiving tank. Further, a pig detecting device for detecting the passing of a pig is provided between the open end of the pipe and the pig receiving device, a suction force controlling device is provided between the pig receiving device and the liquid receiving tank, and a gas-liquid separation apparatus is provided between the liquid receiving tank and the suction pump.
Abstract:
An apparatus and method for treating the walls of apertures passing through a planar substrate with a fluid treatment solution. The method comprises placement of a pressurized fluid wedge beneath, above, or both beneath and above a planar substrate as it passes through a treatment chamber. The apparatus that forms the fluid wedge is a roller assembly comprising a roller within a shroud which carries fluid as it rotates through a gap between the roller and the shroud. The roller provides the dual function of forming the fluid wedge and conveying the planar substrate through the treatment chamber.

Abstract:
Process for coating hollow objects exhibiting an opening, and beverage cans in particular, in which the hollow objects are immersed completely and with the opening downward in a paint-filled submersion bath, the openings being moved into the vicinity of nozzles for the paint, which are located underneath the surface of the liquid in the submersion bath and which at least partially displace the air trapped in the hollow objects immersed in the submersion bath by means of streams of paint discharging from the nozzles. With this process hollow objects can be painted uniformly inside and outside in one step without its being necessary to turn them either to fill them with paint when immersed in the submersion bath or to drain them after their being lifted out of the bath.

Abstract:
The invention relates to techniques for forming fibres from glass or other thermoplastics materials by internal centrifugation associated with gaseous drawing at high temperature. The material to be converted to fibres is poured into a centrifuge, the peripheral face of which is pierced with a vast number of orifices from which the material is sprayed in the form of filaments drawn out into fibres and entrained by a flow of gas at elevated temperature and velocity and directed along the periphery of the centrifuge, cross-wise to the direction in which the fibres are projected and channelled by a layer of cold gases enveloping it which, according to the invention, is formed over the entire perforated height of the peripheral face by diverging individual jets which combine again shortly after the lowest row of orifices in the peripheral face.
Abstract:
Apparatus for applying an anaerobic adhesive to the inside of the necks of cartridge cases preparatory to insertion of bullets therein to provide a seal between the inside of the necks and the bullets, the cases being held standing on end, mouth end up, in a holder arranged in a rank and file format, the holder being indexed to bring successive rows of cases under a set of adhesive dispensing nozzles which are lowered for entry of the tips of the nozzles into the upper ends of the cases in a row.
