摘要: A laminated includes two bent glass substrates, a polymer interlayer between the glass substrates, and a notch or orifice cut in an entire thickness of the glazing. The glazing includes a border of compressive edge stresses obtained by general controlled cooling of the substrates in a paired state so that compressive stresses are generated at the border, and a local compression zone, different from the border, and obtained by local controlled cooling of a local area of a main surface of the glazing so that compressive stresses are generated in theid local compression zone. The notch or orifice is located in the local compression zone and made in the substrates in a paired state after forming the local compression zone so that cut contours of the substrates in the notch or orifice have a perfect superposition. The compressive edge stresses of the cut contours are greater than 4 MPa.

A glass forming apparatus of the present invention includes a transfer unit which moves a material, a preheating unit which preheats the material supplied by the transfer unit, a curved surface forming unit which forms the material in a curved shape, and a cooling unit which cools the material in the curved shape transformed by the curved surface forming unit, wherein the curved surface forming unit includes a moving mold in which a plurality of curved surface-shaped cores configured to seat the preheated material are formed and the moving mold is provided to be movable, a first mold disposed to face the moving mold, a plurality of cavities formed between the moving mold and the first mold, and a pneumatic device which generates a vacuum pressure in the plurality of cavities to adhere the material to the curved surface-shaped cores.

摘要: Methods are provided for laser processing arbitrary shapes of molded 3D thin transparent brittle parts from substrates with particular interest in substrates formed from strengthened or non-strengthened Corning Gorilla® glass (all codes). The developed laser methods can be tailored for manual separation of the parts from the panel or full laser separation by thermal stressing the desired profile. Methods can be used to form 3D surfaces with small radii of curvature. The method involves the utilization of an ultra-short pulse laser that may be optionally followed by a CO2 laser for fully automated separation.

摘要: A glazing comprises a glass substrate having an enamel layer adhered to at least a first surface portion, the enamel comprising 20 to 80 wt % frit and 10 to 50 wt % inorganic pigment. The thickness of the enamel layer is 2 μm to 50 μm, and the inorganic pigment has an infra-red reflectance such that the infra-red reflectance of the first portion of the glass substrate surface is 37% or higher over a region in the wavelength range 800 nm to 2250 nm. The glazing may be laminated, and may be a vehicle windscreen. A process for producing the glazing involves applying ink to a glass substrate, curing the ink thereby producing an enamel adhered to the glass substrate, and shaping the glass substrate by heating to a temperature above 570° C. The preferred inorganic pigments are of the Fe and/or Cr type in spinel, haematite or corundum crystal form.
