Abstract:
A device according to one embodiment includes a sidewall defining an interior; at least one cutting channel having, and/or configured to receive, at least one cutting strip; an opening in the sidewall configured to allow a sheet of material to pass therethrough from the interior; a door coupled to the sidewall; and a handle coupled to the sidewall. A device according to another embodiment includes a peripheral sidewall; a lid coupled to an upper edge of the peripheral sidewall, the lid and the peripheral sidewall defining an interior; a bottom edge of the peripheral sidewall defining an opening to the interior, the interior being configured to receive a sheet of material; at least one cutting channel having, and/or configured to receive, at least one cutting strip; and an opening in the lid, the opening being configured to allow the sheet of material to pass therethrough from the interior.
Abstract:
A method for decorating a motor vehicle is disclosed comprising applying a mask to a painted exterior surface on the motor vehicle, the mask having a masked portion and an open portion that leaves part of the clearcoat layer exposed, wherein the masked portion and the open portion cooperate to define the image that is to be imparted to the surface, and wherein, prior to abrading the exposed part of the clearcoat layer, the exposed part of the clearcoat layer is free of defects. The exposed part of the clearcoat layer to is abraded to provide the exposed part of the clearcoat layer with a matte finish. The mask is removed to reveal an image having a matte finish region and an unabraded region.
Abstract:
Assemblies and methods for applying painter's tape to a wall for painting stripes and patterns on the wall wherein the assembly has a first elongated body defining a first straight outer edge and a first inner edge and having a first body length and a second elongated body defining a second straight outer edge and a second inner edge and having a second body length. The assembly also includes at least one arm having a first end rotatably coupled to the first elongated body and a second end rotatably coupled to the second elongated body, each of the arms having an arm length and configured to space the first elongated body apart from the second elongated body such that the first straight outer edge is a taping distance from the second straight outer edge.
Abstract:
A self retained paint shield configured to shield soffits and/or exterior walls and all applicable areas where there is an interface between areas that are to be painted and areas that are not to be painted, providing a protective surface against overspray. A semi rigid paint shield consisting of a semi rigid rectangular pad or sheet of material, such as cardboard or plastic or any other suitable material, in witch at least one of its edges along side one of its longest sides is constructed in such a way as to make it capable to be temporally attached to the desired area typically found between the adjacent surfaces such as but not limited to, the soffits and wall on the exterior of a house. The said shield can be secured in place either by the insertion of its thin edge, in between the surface to be painted and the surface not to be painted, by adhesive tape, by magnetic means or, by means of an interference fit. The paint shield being fitted with hooks, or other means of attaching a string or line, that once fitted can be used to remove the shield once the areas have been painted. The said paint shield when used in a series provides for a protective surface that permits the spraying/rollin of a wall structure without contamination of the soffit or vice-versa. The said shield, being applicable for protection of surfaces from possible contaminants such as paints, stains, stucco, stripers and all the substances that might be applicable in which the said shield use might be desired.
Abstract:
Disclosed is a tape that includes a substrate having an adhesive layer applied thereto, and an edge coating applied to a masking edge of the tape. The substrate and the adhesive, together, define a first and a second masking edge of the tape. The edge coating includes a flocculating agent that is a polyvalent metal salt or an ionic polymer. The edge coating improves the ability of the tape to provide a sharp mask line after a paint, a varnish, a paint stripper, or other coating composition is applied to a surface where the tape is adhered.
Abstract:
An adjustable stencil for painting parking lots. The adjustable stencil enables parking lot painters adjust the stencil for painting lines, stripes, boxes, and arrows on parking lots.
Abstract:
A method and polishing device for polishing a vehicle tyre. A polishing agent application means is moved in relation to a tyre of a stationary vehicle and polishing agent is applied on the side of the vehicle tyre as the application means moves in relation to the tyre of the stationary vehicle.
Abstract:
A masking tape sealant and applicator includes a bottle with an applicator brush or tip which contains an acrylic material composed of water based acrylic primer designed to seal the edges of masking tape to prevent tape bleed and to create crisp, fine paint lines.
Abstract:
An adhesive tape masking article that can be used to mask both a door hinge or a corner includes a thin flexible sheet of material having opposed first and second major surfaces, first and second side edges, first and second end edges, and arcuate corners extending between at least one of the first and second side edges and the first and second end edges, and adhesive on at least a portion of at least one of the first and second major surfaces, thereby defining an adhesive surface for adhering the sheet to a surface to be masked. The sheet includes a frangible connection that allows the sheet to be separated into two masking articles, each of which can be used to mask corners.
Abstract:
A protection sheet and method of protecting a substrate is disclosed. In an embodiment, the protection sheet comprises an adhesive coated nonwoven material. In an embodiment a surface of the protection sheet captures and retains paint overspray, dust, dirt and other contaminants so as to provide a cleaner paint job. In an embodiment the protection sheet may be laminated to a second nonwoven or woven material to allow clean removal after extended use. The protection sheet may be used to protect horizontal or vertical substrates, and is particularly suited to protect the surfaces of a paint booth used in automotive spray-painting operations.
