Abstract:
A system and method for controlling output quality based on the time interval that a button is engaged to initiate output is pressed. The system and method provide for an output quality of a first category when the button is engaged for a first time interval and initiates output quality of a second category when the button is engaged for a second time interval.
Abstract:
A method for operating a digital camera is provided. Particularly, the method provides for increasing image storage space by changing the resolution of a stored image when photographing a new image. The method includes: displaying images stored in the storage space on a thumbnail screen when a menu for changing a resolution is selected; selecting from the images displayed on the thumbnail screen an image whose resolution is to be changed; and changing a resolution of the selected image when the selection of the image is completed.
Abstract:
In a receiver computer 100, a transmission controller 111 transmits user interface data 171 to a transmitter computer 200. In the transmitter computer 200, a display processing unit 213 causes a user interface for inputting print settings information to be displayed on the screen of a monitor 250, based on the transmitted user interface data 171. When the print settings information is input via an input device 240, a transmission controller 211 transmits color image data 271, color-correction source data 272, and the input print settings information to the receiver computer 100. In the receiver computer 100, a print processing unit 114 carries out a variety of processing operations with respect to color image data, based on the print settings information. A color correction element 118 in the print processing unit 114 carries out a color correction of the color image data using the color-correction source data 272 and color-correction destination data 172 read from a hard disk 170. A printer 180 prints a color image, which is expressed by the contents of the color-corrected color image data. This arrangement enables a printer connected to the receiver computer to print a color image based on the print data transmitted from the transmitter computer via a computer network, even if a printer driver exclusively provided for the printer has not been installed in the transmitter computer.
Abstract:
MFP 100A reads attribute information from an IC tag of a document related to IC tagged printed matter set on ADF 141 by means of IC tag reader 143A, displays modifiable attribute information on control unit 130, and receives an input of modification instruction. Next, it reads image data from an IC tag of the document by IC tag reader 143A and receives an instruction input on which of the attribute information and image data, either before or after the modification, is to be written on the IC tag of the IC tag printing paper. It prints the modified image data on the IC-tagged printing paper based on the attribute information after the modification by means of printing unit 151 and writes on the IC tag of the printing paper the attribute information and the image data, either before or after the modification, according to said instruction. This makes it possible to retain the attribute information and the original image data even after the printing on the IC tagged printing paper by modifying the attribute information of the document.
Abstract:
In response to a request from a host device using an initial protocol, capability information including information indicative of a plurality of communication protocols is returned to the host device, and a communication protocol, designated by the host device based on the capability information, is set, and print data is received from the host device by the set communication protocol. In a system using an interface connected to various types of devices, e.g., an IEEE 1394 serial bus, a communication protocol, which is used when a host device transfers print data to a printer, is not limited to that unique to the manufacturer of the device.
Abstract:
A system and method are provided for adaptively controlling print options in a print system. The method comprises: accepting an imaging job; determining the imaging job characteristics; determining an imaging system's capabilities; matching system capabilities to job characteristics; and, performing the job on an imaging device. Determining job characteristics may involve determining the optimal print media, ink chemistry, or image processing. The imaging job characteristics may be determined by examining the print driver print stream to determine the file type, enacting a user interface dialog with the user, receiving pre-determined imaging job characteristics from a device driver embedded in a PRN image file, or-receiving pre-determined imaging job characteristics from a device driver embedded in a job stream. Determining the system capabilities may include determining the available print media, available inks, available image processes, or imaging device firmware.
Abstract:
The object of the present invention is to provide a digital camera system capable of transmitting image information suitable for the purpose of image usage in a peripheral. Special information in connection with an application program used in the peripheral is output to a digital camera, an image data processed in the digital camera on the basis of the special information is output to the peripheral, and the peripheral executes the application program by inputting the processed image data into the application program. The special information is the size of a character, the number of colors, resolution, and the like used in the application program.
Abstract:
An information processing apparatus performs communication with an external device which displays received image data. The information processing apparatus includes a unit for generating second screen image data from first screen image data which is stored in a memory in the information processing apparatus by a program executed by the information processing apparatus. The resolution of the second screen image data is lower than that of the first screen image data. The information processing apparatus also has a display device which displays the second screen image data, a unit for acquiring the first screen image data from the memory, and a unit for transmitting the first screen image data to the external device.
Abstract:
An image processing apparatus and method are provided which permit cooperation of a plurality of image input/output units having image data input and/or output functions. The apparatus is connected to another device using a communication line, and receives image processing conditions from the other device. The apparatus processes image information transferred from the other device in accordance with the image processing conditions. When image processing is inexecutable under those conditions, the apparatus transmits executable image processing conditions in place of those received from the other device.
Abstract:
An image communication apparatus and a communication controlling method thereon, wherein in the case where image data having an attribute not specified by the ITU-T recommendation is transmitted, regardless of an attribute of image data to be transmitted, a reception command including a first image attribute specified by the ITU-T recommendation are sent out, and information including a second image attribute of image data to be transmitted is sent out in a phase transmitting the image data after the reception command is sent out. And when an image is transmitted with the second image attribute, a transmission takes place with a binary file transfer communication procedure following a first communication procedure specified by the ITU-T recommendation so that image data having an image attribute not standardized by the ITU-T recommendation can be transmitted.
