摘要: In order to ensure recording quality while suppressing the adverse effects due to performance variations among apparatuses and disc radial positions on an optical disc, an optical disc apparatus according to the present invention performs, at the time of data recording, the steps of: acquiring a jitter value and β value from a reproduced signal based on laser light reflected from the optical disc in relation to a disc radial position; learning a β value when the acquired jitter value is a minimum as a target β value; and, if a jitter value acquired thereafter is larger than the minimum jitter value by a preset reference value or above, correcting recording power based on the magnitude relation and the difference between the β value associated with the acquired jitter value and the target β value or performing trial record processing.

摘要: The objects of the present invention are to facilitate the driving of the recording energy source, and to secure sufficient cooling time of the recording medium to promote the high-speed formation of high-precision marks and to provide high-speed and large-capacity information recording apparatuses at a low cost. To achieve the above objects, at the time of information recording, p is chosen as the integer constant for marks natural number k times long of the detection window width by referring to the mark length in the recording data sequence, the recording data sequence is discriminated according to the quotient obtained by and the remainder remaining after dividing k+p by two or more integer constants, and the energy generating means is driven according to different procedures based on the result of discrimination obtained thereby.

摘要: An objective of the present invention is to enhance reliability of recorded data by preventing deterioration of OPC (Optimum Power Calibration) accuracy due to an influence of inter-layer interference in an optical disk device capable of writing in a multilayer optical disk. Aiming at the objective, a relationship between asymmetry and a signal modulation depth, which are measured by use of a standard driver is referred, and thereby an offset caused by a device, a disk, a writing state of another layer and the like is compensated. Thus, OPC is executed.

摘要: A balun in which the phase shift may be reduced significantly is disclosed. The balun has three lines, i.e. a first line b, a second line a and a third line c, arranged in parallel with the ground surface. The second line a and the third line c are arranged at the same height from the ground surface GC, the longitudinal length of each respective one of the first line b, second line a and third line c are specified to be equal to a quarter (¼) of the wavelength at the central frequency in the working band, and the capacitance Ca between the second line a and the ground surface GC is specified to be equal to the capacitance Cab between the second line a and the first line b. Furthermore, the distance h3 between the center of each respective one of the second line a and third line c in the height direction and the ground surface GC located closer to each respective one of the second line a and third line c is specified to be longer than the distance h2 between the center of the first line b in the height direction and the center of each respective one of the second line a and third line c in the height direction, or the permittivity of a dielectric D3 is specified to be less than that of a dielectric D2.

The polarizing plate of the present invention comprises a polyvinyl-alcohol-based polarizing film, a protective film having thereon two anchor coat agent layers, mainly composed of a cyclic-olefin-based resin, laminated on at least one side of the polarizing film, with an adhesive. The amount of change in optical in-plane retardation of the protective film is 5 nm or less after 24 hours in an atmosphere of 80° C., and the wetting tension of the anchor coated surface of the protective film is 500 &mgr;N/cm (23° C.) or more. The anchor coat agent layers include a first layer made of polyisocyanate and polyester polyol and/or polyether polyol, and a second layer made of polyvinyl alcohol. 摘要: A sputtering apparatus includes a process chamber for accommodating a semiconductor wafer. A susceptor is disposed on the bottom of the interior of the process chamber, and a sputter target is disposed at the top of the process chamber. A cylindrical ion reflecting plate is disposed along the inner wall of the process chamber. A lower grounded component, which forms a path along which electrons are released, is disposed below the ion reflecting plate so as to surround the susceptor. A magnet is disposed behind the target outside the process chamber. Negative potentials are applied to the target and semiconductor wafer, and a positive potential is applied to the ion reflecting plate. The magnet forms a closed magnetic field for trapping electrons in a plasma on the surface of the target, and a divergent magnetic field for directing the electrons in the plasma to the lower grounded component.
