Upon generating an LUT complying with the ICC profile format, a grid point outside of the visible region on the CIELAB space is moved into the visible region. The Lab values of the grid point are converted into XYZ values, which undergo color appearance conversion to acquire color appearance values. The acquired color appearance values are mapped on the color gamut of a predetermined device.
