Abstract: This technology relates to providing a web-based digital claims platform to provide users with a simple and customized experience when filing insurance claims. The platform is enabled by a plurality of back-end application programming interface (API) resources. These API resources are event-driven (e.g., when an “event” associated with the claim occurs, the status of the claim changes and the API is provided with updated information indicative of the change). The platform includes a customized user interface (UI) that tailors the claim experience to a particular user's needs. The customization can be based off of stated user preferences and/or learned user preferences associated with the user's past behavior. A user can perform/request various services through the customized UI's self-service function (e.g., rent a car, find a hotel room, select a repair shop, etc.). Additionally, the customized UI can enable the user upload documents, track claim status, find relevant help topics, etc.

Abstract: Techniques are described herein for detecting status changes to fluid flow devices. An exemplary computer-implemented method may include (1) receiving, from a sensor disposed proximate to a fluid flow device, a vibration signal; (2) determining a current flow rate within the fluid flow device based upon the vibration signal; (3) detecting a status change of the fluid flow device based upon a comparison between the current flow rate and a prior flow rate; (4) determining a recommended remediation action to adjust the current flow rate to the prior flow rate; and (5) generating an alert signal indicating the status change and the recommended remediation action.

Abstract: Techniques for providing recommendations of actions for a user to perform to improve efficiency in user interactions with a user interface of a user computing device. An intelligent monitoring (IM) computing system may receive data from a user computing device and may determine user interactions associated with the user interface. The user interactions may include selections, an order associated with the selections, times associated with the selections, and/or other data corresponding to user interaction with a user interface. The IM computing device may be configured to determine a fault (e.g., inefficiency) associated with the user interactions and determine an action for the user to perform to correct the fault. The IM computing device may cause a notification including the action to surface on a display of the user computing device, such as to inform the user of a means by which they can improve efficiency of the user interactions.

Abstract: A system and computer-implemented method for approving a dynamic mortgage application. In one aspect, the method may include determining a customer is approved for a mortgage and determining a real estate property is mortgage ready, including calculating an appraisal value for the real estate property based upon the information about the real property retrieved from a computer file or memory location/address (such as by using a machine learning or artificial intelligence algorithm). The method may still further include comparing the calculated amount the customer is approved for a mortgage loan with the calculated appraisal value of the real estate property; and approving the mortgage application of the customer for the real estate property when the calculated amount the customer is approved for the mortgage loan meets, or exceeds, the calculated appraisal value of the real estate property.

Abstract: A computer-implemented method for allowing a user to visualize exposure data to facilitate catastrophe analysis includes receiving a wind speed probabilities data set; selecting a count of policies; generating an exposure map layer; and transmitting the map layer to a client device. A non-transitory computer readable medium containing program instructions that when executed, cause a computer to: receive one or more map layers; display a set of filter criteria; receive an input of a user; and update the map graphical user interface.

Abstract: Candidate function data can include data for multiple candidate functions that may indicate whether insurance claims are likely to involve certain issues, such as comparative negligence issues. A real-time claim identifier can use the candidate function data to determine, in near real-time, if claim data for a new insurance claim submitted to an insurance company satisfies at least one of the candidate functions. If the claim data satisfies at least one of the candidate functions, the insurance claim can be assigned to a corresponding destination in the insurance company, such as a department that processes comparative negligence claims, for further processing.

Abstract: Techniques for detecting water hazard conditions proximate to a structure are disclosed herein. An exemplary computer-implemented method may include receiving, from a sensor disposed proximate to the structure, a water level signal, and determining a water level proximate to the structure based upon the water level signal. The exemplary computer-implemented method may further include detecting, by executing a water hazard model, a water hazard condition based upon the water level proximate to the structure, and determining (i) a recommended mitigation action to mitigate damage to the structure from the water hazard condition and (ii) a cause of the water hazard condition. The exemplary computer-implemented method may further include generating an alert signal indicating the water hazard condition and the recommended mitigation action.

Abstract: The following relates generally to light detection and ranging (LIDAR). In some embodiments, a homeowners insurance quote is produced based upon data received from a LIDAR camera. For instance, in some embodiments, a system: receives light detection and ranging (LIDAR) data generated from one or more LIDAR cameras; analyzes the LIDAR data to determine or identify one or more features or characteristics of a home; and generates an electronic homeowners insurance quote based upon, at least in part, the one or more features or characteristics of the home determined or identified from the LIDAR data.

Abstract: Disclosed systems and methods incorporate machine learning to assess damage to vehicles. An example method includes: accessing image data representing one or more digital images of damage to a vehicle; selecting, using one or more processors, an applicable machine learning algorithm from a plurality of different trained machine learning algorithms, wherein the plurality of different machine learning algorithms are trained for respective different combinations of one or more of vehicle make, vehicle model, vehicle year, or area of damage; processing the image data, with the applicable machine learning algorithm using one or more processors, to determine assessed damage for the vehicle; accessing actual damage information for the vehicle; determining, using one or more processors, differences between the actual damage and the assessed damage; and iterating, using one or more processors, the applicable machine learning algorithm based on the differences to improve its damage assessment accuracy.
