    摘要: A valve has a piezoelectric actuator with a valve element, a valve body and a valve seat. In order to control the valve, the valve element is moved into the valve seat from a position remote from the valve seat by means of a charging process at a prescribable first time. A first value is determined being characteristic of the electrical power supplied to the piezoelectric actuator when the valve element meets the valve seat. A second value is determined being characteristic of the electrical power supplied to the piezoelectric actuator when the charging process of the piezoelectric actuator is concluded. An actual difference value between the second value and the first value is determined. A difference between a setpoint difference value and the actual difference value is supplied to a controller. An actuating signal for charging the piezoelectric actuator is determined as a function of the actuating variable.

    摘要: Biodegradable polymer blends suitable for laminate coatings, wraps and other packaging materials are manufactured from a blend of suitable biodegradable polymers, such as at least one “hard” biopolymer and at least one “soft” biopolymer. “Hard” biopolymers tend to be more brittle and rigid and typically have a glass transition temperature greater than about 10° C. “Soft” biopolymers tend to be more flexible and pliable and typically have a glass transition temperature less than about 0° C. While hard and soft polymers each possess certain intrinsic benefits, certain blends of hard and soft polymers have been discovered which possess synergistic properties superior to those of either hard or soft polymers by themselves. Biodegradable polymers include polyesters, polyesteramides, polyesterurethanes, thermoplastic starch, and other natural polymers. The polymer blends may optionally include an inorganic filler. Films and sheets made from the polymer blends may be textured so as to increase the bulk hand feel. Wraps will typically be manufactured to have good “dead-fold” properties so as to remain in a wrapped position and not spring back to an “unwrapped” form.

    摘要: Thermoplastic starch compositions formed by converting native starch or starch derivatives into thermoplastic starch by at least one hydrophobic biodegradable polymer that functions as a plasticizer for starch. The hydrophobic biodegradable polymer may be a polymer selected from the following list: an aliphatic polyester, a copolyester with aliphatic and aromatic blocks, a polyester amide, a polyester urethane, a polyethylene oxide polymer and/or a polyglycol, and/or mixtures of these. When the starch, such as in particular native starch or derivatives thereof, is mixed in the melt with the hydrophobic biodegradable polymer as a plasticizer or swelling agent, to homogenize the mixture, the water content is reduced to less than about 5% by weight based on the weight of the mixture.

    摘要: An injection molding machine is provided that includes a manifold for distributing plastic melt flow to one or more mold cavities. The manifold has a flow channel having an output orifice surrounded by a lower outside surface, and is expandable upon heating. The injection molding machine also includes a nozzle comprising a body mounted in a receiving aperture in a stationary housing aligned with a gate to a mold cavity, the body having a central bore for delivering plastic melt flow from the channel in the manifold to the mold cavity, the body having an upper surface for engaging with the lower surface of the manifold. The body has a lip member comprising an outer leg circumferentially spaced from an inner body section of the body, the outer leg having a surface mounted against a mounting surface of a stationary housing. The manifold is mounted adjacent to the stationary housing and the nozzle is mounted in or on the stationary housing such that the upper surface of the body of the nozzle faces the lower surface of the manifold for engagement therewith. The lower surface of the manifold engages the upper surface of the body of the nozzle under compression, the outer leg of the lip member being compressed by the compression between the engaged upper surface of the body and the lower surface of the manifold.
