Abstract: A user equipment (UE) may transmit a sounding reference signal (SRS) on a component carrier (CC) that is otherwise configured for downlink communications. Due to a carrier aggregation configuration or UE capability, the UE may need to retune certain components to transmit on the CC. If the SRS transmission, including the retuning time, collides with another transmission (e.g., in uplink or downlink) the UE may drop the SRS, drop the other transmission, or puncture the other transmission to facilitate the SRS transmission. The determination about a collision may depend on the retuning time, channel, or type of control information in the other transmission. In some cases, a UE may drop the other transmission if transmitting the SRS would prevent the UE from transmitting a demodulation reference signal, hybrid automatic repeat request (HARD) feedback. In some cases, the determination may be based upon a prioritization and may also depend on a subsequent subframe.

Abstract: Design of channel usage beacon signals (CUBS) in cooperative networks is disclosed. After detecting a clear channel assessment (CCA), a transmitter selects a configuration of a CUBS associated with the transmitter based on the CCA opportunity assigned to the network. The configuration of the CUBS associated with the transmitter may include a set of frequency subcarriers for CUBS transmissions. The transmitter transmits the CUBS according to transmission characteristics based on the CCA opportunity. In additional aspects, randomization may be introduced into the frequency subcarrier allocations of CUBS configurations where the transmitter receives assignment of virtual frequency subcarriers for CUBS transmissions and maps the virtual subcarrier to physical frequency subcarriers for CUBS transmission. Additional aspects allow for pattern offset values to be determined independently from the transmitter cell identifier. In such aspects, the assigned pattern offsets may be cell identifier-independent, while others may be cell identifier-dependent.

Abstract: Methods, apparatuses, systems, and devices are described for wireless communication. In one method, a control format indicator value for a frame may be received over a physical carrier in a shared spectrum. Based on the control format indicator value, a number of subframes of the frame to be used by a base station for downlink transmissions over the physical carrier may be determined. The control format indicator value may indicate an end of transmission, if data is to be transmitted during the frame, a number of subframes to be used for transmission, or whether the current subframe is the final subframe used for transmission. In some cases, a user equipment (UE) may use the control format indicator value to determine a sleep schedule. Further, ACK/NACK transmissions by a UE may be scheduled based on the control format indicator value.

The apparatus determines a location of a reference subframe based on an A-CSI report uplink subframe, an A-CSI request downlink subframe, a reference delay, and a report delay. In an aspect, the reference delay is a first delay value before the A-CSI report uplink subframe, and the report delay is a second delay value between the A-CSI request downlink subframe and the A-CSI report uplink subframe. The apparatus determines a type of the reference subframe based on the location of the reference subframe and a subframe configuration, the type of the reference subframe being a flexible subframe or a fixed subframe. The apparatus measures at least one of a channel or interference based on the reference subframe and the type of the reference subframe. The apparatus sends, at the A-CSI report uplink subframe, an A-CSI report based on the at least one of the channel or the interference.

Abstract: Methods, systems, and devices for wireless communication are described. A user equipment (UE) may use multiple-input multiple-output (MIMO) layer specific and codeword specific communication configurations to communicate with multiple base stations. For example, multiple base stations may be configured to provide coordinated multipoint (CoMP) transmissions to the UE. One or more of the base stations may transmit a set of communications configurations to the UE that includes at least one MIMO layer specific or codeword specific configuration. The UE may then receive a dynamic indication of which communication configuration to use during a specific time period. The UE may then communicate with one or more of the base stations using the indicated configuration during the specified time period.

In an aspect, the apparatus may determine whether a starting symbol of an enhanced physical downlink control channel (EPDCCH) is an initial symbol in a subframe based on an EPDCCH configuration. Based on the determination, the apparatus may refrain from decoding a subset of legacy control channels in the subframe when the starting symbol of the EPDCCH is the initial symbol in the subframe. The legacy control channel may comprise at least one of a physical control format indicator channel (PCFICH), a physical hybrid-ARQ indicator channel (PHICH), or a combination thereof.
