摘要: An apparatus and method for transmitting an indicator of channel quality while minimizing the use of a broadcast channel is described. A metric of forward link geometry of observed transmission signals is determined. An indicator of channel quality value is determined as a function of the observed transmission signals. An access sequence is selected, randomly, from one group of a plurality of groups of access sequences, wherein each of the plurality of groups of access sequences correspond to different ranges of channel quality values.

摘要: The present disclosure provides techniques for performing bit-level interleaving for orthogonal frequency-divisional multiplexing (OFDM) symbols across a plurality of code blocks. In some aspects, a transmitting device may dynamically switch between bit-level interleaving and tone-level interleaving for each OFDM symbol based on factors such as number of bits that are carried in each tone, size of each code block, the processing time requirements of the transmitting device and/or the receiving device, or the transmitting device preference.

摘要: Techniques for reservation coordination on a shared communication medium are disclosed. An access point, for example, may contend for access to a communication medium, and transmit a channel reservation message in accordance with a first Radio Access Technology (RAT) to reserve the communication medium for a transmission opportunity (TXOP) duration based on the contending. The access point may then transmit, during the reserved TXOP duration, a reservation coordination signal in accordance with a second RAT to convey reservation coordination information associated with the reserved TXOP duration.

A terminal can measure channel quality and other information in a wireless communication environment and prepare a VCQI report. The report can be transmitted to a serving base station and/or non-serving base stations. The report information can be utilized by the base stations to allocate resources and/or to facilitate handoff within the wireless communication environment.

Coexistence between the different network operators on the shared spectrum may be provided by reserving resources for exclusive use by each of the network operators within a period of time that is variable based on the number of network operators. 摘要: Techniques for sending signaling messages in a wireless communication network are described. In an aspect, a signaling message (e.g., a reduce interference request) may be sent by mapping it to at least one specific subcarrier among a set of subcarriers reserved for sending the signaling message. The at least one subcarrier may be selected based on the message value. A signal may be sent on the at least one subcarrier in multiple symbol periods to convey the signaling message. In another aspect, a reduce interference request may be sent based on an orthogonal resource among orthogonal resources available for sending reduce interference requests. In one design, an orthogonal sequence may be selected based on the request and may be spread across a resource segment. In another design, the reduce interference request may be processed to obtain modulation symbols, and each modulation symbol may be spread across multiple subcarriers in one symbol period.

摘要: Techniques for transmitting pilot and traffic data are described. In one aspect, a terminal may scramble its pilot with a scrambling sequence generated based on a set of static and dynamic parameters. The static parameter(s) have fixed value for an entire communication session for the terminal. The dynamic parameter(s) have variable value during the communication session. The terminal may generate a scrambling sequence by hashing the set of parameters to obtain a seed and initializing a pseudo-random number (PN) generator with the seed. The terminal may then generate the pilot based on the scrambling sequence. In another aspect, the terminal may use different scrambling sequences for pilot and traffic data. A first scrambling sequence may be generated based on a first set of parameters and used to generate the pilot. A second scrambling sequence may be generated based on a second set of parameters and used to scramble traffic data.
