Abstract: A home control system includes a thermostat configured to measure environmental conditions in a first room of a building and control heating, ventilation, and air condition (HVAC) equipment within the building. The thermostat includes a central control hub configured to communicate with a plurality of remote sensor units via a data communications interface. The thermostat further includes a processing circuit configured to monitor and control non-HVAC equipment within the building. The system further includes a first remote sensor unit of the plurality of remote sensor units. The first remote sensor unit is configured to measure environmental conditions in a second room of the building and wirelessly communicate information associated with the measured environmental conditions to the central control hub. The thermostat is further configured to control both the HVAC equipment and the non-HVAC equipment within the building based on the information received from the remote sensor unit.

Abstract: A flow control device is configured to control fluid flow in an HVAC system. The flow control device includes a valve, an actuator configured to open and close the valve, and one or more sensors. The flow control device further includes a fault detection and correction agent configured to receive data from the one or more sensors, analyze the data according to a set of rules, and detect whether one or more faults have occurred. In response to detecting a fault, the fault detection and correction agent is configured to either operate the actuator to open or close the valve or initiate a corrective action to be taken by another device in the HVAC system.

Abstract: A computerized method of assigning a building automation system point type to a plurality of unclassified data points is provided. The method includes receiving unclassified data points and attributes for each data point. The method includes receiving classifications for a first subset of the unclassified data points. Each classification associates a data point with a building automation system point type. The method includes generating a term set containing substrings that appear in the attributes. The method includes generating a first matrix describing a frequency that the substrings appear in the attributes. The method includes calculating an indicator of a probability that the presence of the selected substring results in the data point belonging to the selected point type. The method includes assigning a point type to a second subset by finding the substring and potential point type pair having the greatest indication of probability.

Abstract: A building system for operating a building and managing building information, the building system comprising one or more memory devices configured to store instructions thereon. The instructions causing one or more processors to receive building data from one or more building data sources and generate a space graph based on the building data, wherein the space graph is a graph data structure comprising nodes representing entities and edges between the entities representing relationships between the entities. The instructions cause the one or more processors to ingest data values of the building data into the space graph, the data values associated with the entities, and perform one or more operations with the space graph based on both the relationships of the entities and the ingested data values.

Abstract: A system for securely communicating information in a building management system (BMS) includes a plurality of HVAC devices communicably coupled via a network each HVAC device storing a copy of an HVAC data chain that includes a plurality of blocks linked sequentially. The plurality of HVAC devices includes a first HVAC device including a processing circuit configured to generate a first block comprising device data and send the block to at least a portion of the plurality of HVAC devices. The processing circuit is configured to receive a second block from one of the plurality of HVAC devices and solve the second block. The processing circuit is further configured to add the solved block to the HVAC data chain of the first HVAC device as the newest block and send the solved block to each of the plurality of HVAC devices.

Abstract: A heating, ventilation, and air conditioning (HVAC) system for a building includes a plurality of actuation devices, a plurality of sensors, and a controller. The actuation devices receive actuation signals and operate in accordance with the actuation signals to affect one or more variables in the building. The sensors measure the variables affected by the actuation devices and provide sensor response signals including values of the measured variables. The controller generates actuation signal timeseries including samples of the actuation signals and sensor response timeseries including samples of the sensor response signals. The controller applies a discrete cosine transformation (DCT) to each actuation signal timeseries and each sensor response timeseries. Each DCT generates a set of DCT coefficients. The controller identifies a similarity between two or more of the actuation signal timeseries and the sensor response timeseries by comparing the DCT coefficients resulting from the DCTs.

Abstract: A building management system includes an entity database that stores a plurality of interconnected smart entities. The smart entities include object entities representing a plurality of people or physical devices and data entities representing data associated with the people or physical devices. The smart entities are interconnected by relational objects indicating relationships between the object entities and the data entities. Each of the object entities includes a plurality of stored identity attributes. An identity management service is configured to receive a first identity attribute from a first device within a building, receive a second identity attribute from a second device within the building, compare the first and second identity attributes to the stored identity attributes of an object entity of the plurality of interconnected smart entities, and allow access to at least one of a building space, a device of building equipment, or a computer system.

Abstract: A building energy management system includes building equipment, a data collector, an analytics service, a timeseries database, and an energy management application. The building equipment monitor and control one or more variables in the building energy management system and provide data samples of the one or more variables. The data collector collects the data samples from the building equipment and generates a data timeseries including a plurality of the data samples. The analytics service performs one or more analytics using the data timeseries and generates a results timeseries including a plurality of result samples indicating results of the analytics. The timeseries database stores the data timeseries and the results timeseries. The energy management application retrieves the data timeseries and the results timeseries from the timeseries database in response to a request for timeseries data associated with the one or more variables.
