Metadata is also applied to content sources delivering content to a search engine or personalized content engine. The metadata is used in part to determine the relative display of content objects delivered to the mobile user as search results or a personalized aggregated information resource, e.g., home page. The user may select information, from one or more entities or search results or as presented to the user in other contexts, to be automatically delivered to the user's home page as a content feed including multiple content objects or content feeds associated with an entity. Information regarding mobile user activity is compiled and used to permit publishers and advertisers to identify target candidates to receive advertisements or marketing materials.

    摘要: A method and apparatus are provided for routing a packet within a plurality of n nodes arranged in a line or tree (or a combination of the foregoing), given a maximum stack depth, s. A fixed stack process for routing packets on a line given a stack depth, s, initially divides a line of n nodes into segments, such as n1/s approximately equal segments. A unique label is assigned to each segment and, within each segment, one of up to n1/s labels is assigned to each node. A fixed stack process for routing packets on a tree, given a target stack depth, s, initially identifies a subset, S, of at nodes from the tree, such as at most 3 n1/s nodes, such that after the subset, S, is removed, each remaining subtree has at most n(s-1)/s nodes. A unique label is assigned to each of the nodes in the subset S and, within each remaining subtree, one of up to n(s-1)/s labels is assigned to each node. If the bound on the stack depth cannot be violated, the fixed stack routing process merges every two consecutive levels in the stack to one level.

In one approach, multiple users associate multiple tags with multiple webpages of different websites. Based on a first tag set that is associated with a first website and based on a second tag set that is associated with a second website, it is determined that the first and second websites are related and information is stored indicating such. In another approach, a user associates a particular tag with a webpage of a website. The user indicates that the particular tag is to be shared with other users that visit the website. When a second user requests a webpage from that website, a tag view is provided to the second user. The tag view includes the particular tag.

The trust indicator may indicate whether publishers of web content and/or end-users trust the content of the particular webpage and whether the particular webpage is popular. A user requests, via a web browser a webpage to be displayed. A process associated with the webpage requests a value to be displayed along with the webpage. The value may indicate 1) a number of links that link to the webpage, 2) a number of user-created tags that have been associated with the webpage, or 3) a trust rank that a web crawler associates with the webpage. A trust rank may be based, at least in part, on user-created tags that have been associated with the webpage. A value may also be associated with an advertisement that is displayed along with a particular webpage.

    摘要: Techniques are provided through which a user is verified as authorized to modify a website. A web crawler generates a filename and content for the user, who purports to be authorized to modify a particular website. The web crawler sends the filename and content toward the user. The user stores a file with the filename on a server that hosts the website. The user places the content within the file. The web crawler determines whether the file is stored on the server and whether the content is in the file. If so, then the web crawler stores information that indicates that the user is authorized to receive information pertaining to the website, which may be confidential information. If the file is not stored on the server or if the file does not contain the content, then the web crawler does not provide any information to the user pertaining to the website.
