Abstract: A display device which achieves both a high-accuracy sensing operation and smooth input in a touch sensor unit is provided. The display device includes a display unit and the touch sensor unit. The touch sensor unit performs a touch sensing operation when the display unit does not perform a display image rewriting operation; thus, a highly accurate sensing operation is possible. A gate driver of the display unit includes a first circuit and a second circuit. The second circuit includes a plurality of shift registers. Only a display image of a region that needs to be rewritten can be rewritten. The first circuit is a shift register and designates a shift register from the plurality of shift registers included in the second circuit to operate. In the case where an image in the entire display region does not need to be rewritten, the time assigned for the sensing operation of the touch sensor unit increases, leading to the smooth input.

Abstract: A display device that achieves both high detection sensitivity of the touch sensor unit and smooth input on the touch sensor unit is provided. A method for driving a display device includes a first period and a second period. The display device includes pixels, a gate driver, and a touch sensor unit. The touch sensor unit detects a touch in the first period and stops detecting a touch in the second period. The gate driver supplies signals to some of the pixels and does not supply signals to the other pixels in the second period.

Abstract: To provide a semiconductor device including a small-area circuit with high withstand voltage, an oxide semiconductor (OS) transistor is used as some of transistors included in a circuit handling an analog signal in a circuit to which high voltage is applied. The use of an OS transistor with high withstand voltage as a transistor requiring resistance to high voltage enables the circuit area to be reduced without lowering the performance, as compared to the case using a Si transistor. Furthermore, an OS transistor can be provided over a Si transistor, so that transistors using different semiconductor layers can be stacked, resulting in a much smaller circuit area.

Abstract: A semiconductor device capable of current detection accurately is provided. The semiconductor device includes an error amplifier, a voltage controlled oscillator (VCO), a counter, a first circuit, and a terminal. The terminal is electrically connected to a non-inverting input terminal of the error amplifier. An inverting input terminal of the error amplifier is supplied with first voltage. An output terminal of the error amplifier is electrically connected to the VCO. An output terminal of the VCO is electrically connected to the counter. The first circuit is electrically connected to the output terminal of the VCO and the terminal. The circuit supplies current in accordance with the frequency of a signal output from the VCO.

Abstract: An object is to improve the signal-to-noise ratio (SNR). A signal processing circuit includes first to fourth terminals, a switch circuit, and an integrator circuit. The integrator circuit includes an amplifier circuit. The amplifier circuit has an output terminal, a terminal (−), a first terminal (+), and a second terminal (+). The switch circuit has a function of electrically connecting the terminal (−) to the second terminal, the first terminal (+) to the first terminal, and the second terminal (+) to the third terminal; and a function of electrically connecting the terminal (−) to the third terminal, the first terminal (+) to the second terminal, and the second terminal (+) to the fourth terminal. The integrator circuit integrates a signal input to the terminal (−), with an average voltage of the voltages of the first terminal (+) and the second terminal (+) as a reference voltage. The integrator circuit removes common mode noise from the signal input to the terminal (−) and thus can output a signal with high SNR. The signal processing circuit is used for a sensing circuit of a touch sensor, for example.
