Abstract:
A secured network system comprising a readykey controller connected to a st card reader and a power relay switch. The user inserts a microchip embedded card into the first card reader which transmits a first electrical authorization signal to the readykey controller indicating that the user is authorized to use a computer for receiving and processing classified data. The readykey controller then supplies a first enable signal to a power relay switch activating the power relay switch which couples the computer's power supply to an external power source. The secured network system also allows the user to receive and process classified data, by setting a manual A/B switch to a predetermined position which allows a secured network server to be connected to the computer. The user next inserts his proximity card into a second card reader which then transmits a second electrical authorization signal to the readykey controller indicating that the user is authorized to receive and process classified data. The readykey controller next sends a second enable signal to a data relay switch. The second enable signal enables the data relay switch connecting the secured network switch to the computer which allows for the transmission of classified data between the secured network server and the computer.
Abstract:
A method of fabricating a bond and the bond. The process includes providing a lower level (M1,13, 15) of electrically conductive metal disposed on a substrate having a pair of spaced apart sections. An electrically insulating layer (11) is then disposed over the lower level and vias (23) are formed in the electrically insulating layer, individual ones of the vias extending to one of the spaced apart section of the lower level. An upper level of electrically conductive metal (M2, 17, 19) is disposed on the electrically insulating layer, the upper level having a pair of spaced apart sections, each coupled to one of the sections of the lower level through a via. One of the pair of spaced apart sections of the lower level is preferably essentially U-shaped (13) and the other section (15) of the lower level is essentially rectangular shaped and extends into the open end of the "U". One of the pair of spaced apart section of the upper level is essentially rectangular (17) with a rectangular aperture at its central region and the other section of the upper level (19) is essentially rectangular and disposed within the rectangular aperture. A bond (23) is formed completely enclosing the spaced apart sections of the upper level.
Abstract:
A high speed telemetry system for implantable devices such as a pacemaker includes a transmitter disposed in an implantable housing and an external receiver. Typically the housing is metallic and it attenuates drastically electromagnetic signals having frequencies above a relatively low cut-off frequency. The transmitter includes circuitry for generating cosine waves of different frequencies and for selectively assembling these waves to define a set of data symbols. Preferably one of the frequency is a multiple of the other. Integer halve-periods of the waves are selected to define the symbols such that the overall data transmission rate exceeds the cutoff frequency. The external receiver synchronizes itself to the transmitter, and decodes the symbols using a constellation chart to decode the symbols into binary data.
Abstract:
A method and apparatus for programmable current limits is provided in which a plurality of current limit programmable cells (44 and 46) are programmed with a current limit. Output circuitry (14 and 16) which outputs current is limited by current limit circuitry (20, 24, 38, 40, and 42) when the output current reaches the programmed current limit.
Abstract:
An elongated metal frame structure for connecting a large elongated container to a vehicle employed in transporting the container. The frame comprises a plurality of aluminum alloy tubes connected together at certain corners of the frame by corner assemblies. The assemblies comprise a "standard" cast iron or steel fitting and at least one steel member connected to one face of the fitting. The exterior surfaces of each steel member are coated with materials that are effective in electrically separating the steel member from an aluminum tube of the frame when the corner assemblies and aluminum tubes are assembled together. The size of the steel members in cross section with the materials applied to the surfaces of the steel member is such that the steel member can slip into the end of the aluminum tube located at a corner of the frame.
Abstract:
The device has a semiconductor chip having active circuitry in the face thereof. The circuitry has busing over it containing two conductive layers having a plurality of contacts and vias with spacings between them that alternate with respect to one another to provide current ballasting and improved switching uniformity. The spacings between the alternating contacts and vias provide regions of maximum conductor thickness and therefore reduces the busing resistance. Staggering the rows of alternating contacts and vias provides further current ballasting. A first conducting layer is used to contact and provide electrically isolated low resistive conducting paths to the various semiconductor regions while the second conducting region is used to provide selective contact to the first conductive layer, thus providing a means of busing large currents over active semiconductor area without sacrificing performance parameters.
Abstract:
A device for the top mounting of a faucet to a sink includes a generally cylindrical sleeve having a threaded shank with an internal diameter of a size to receive the body of a faucet and the water connections thereto. The sleeve has an outwardly extending shoulder at one end and an upstanding wall at the extremity of the shoulder. The shoulder is formed and adapted to seat upon the top of a sink. Beneath the sink the shank of the sleeve carries an elastomeric washer which is positioned adjacent the bottom of the sink, a hard washer positioned adjacent the elastomeric washer, and a nut which is threaded onto the shank. The nut urges the hard washer against the seal washer and the seal washer in turn forms a seal with the bottom of the sink.
Abstract:
An apparatus is provided for adjustably mounting a prime mover in belt driving relation to a reciprocating compressor to facilitate proper tensioning, locating and aligning of a reciprocating compressor drive belt. The apparatus includes a base plate and a support plate which mounts the prime mover. A pivotal mounting means, which defines an axis of rotation, is connected to the support plate. At least one pair of locators are fixedly attached to the base plate. The at least one pair of locators removably receive the pivotal mounting means to adjustably locate the support plate with respect to the base plate. A pivotal adjustment assembly adjustably positions the support plate in a predetermined position along an arcuately shaped path of travel about the axis of rotation.
