    Abstract: Antibodies to Tumor Necrosis Factor receptors (TNF-Rs) which inhibit the cytocidal effect of TNF but not its binding to the TNF-Rs, and ligands interacting with other receptors of the TNF/NGF family, are provided together with methods of producing them.     Abstract: The invention relates to the use of an immunogen selected from the group consisting of (i) an anti-p53 mAb; (ii) a fragment of an anti-p53 mAb; (iii) a peptide based on a CDR of the heavy or light chain of an anti-p53 mAb, which peptide is capable of eliciting antibodies to p53; and (iv) a DNA molecule coding for the variable (V) region of an anti-p53 mAb in a suitable gene delivery vehicle, for the preparation of a pharmaceutical composition useful for induction of anti-tumor immunity in mammals, for activating an enhanced immune response to a p53 molecule in mammals, and/or for induction of immune responses to mutated and wild-type forms of a p53 in mammals.     Abstract: An optical resonator supporting two sets of simultaneously co-existent oscillation modes (30 and 31), having polarizations orthogonal to each other. Mode control elements (28 and 29), such as apertures and phase elements, are introduced into the resonator to allow only preferred modes to exist. The placement and orientation of the sets are designed such that the high intensity zones of one set fall on the nodes or low intensity zones of the other set in an interlaced pattern. Thus, in a laser resonator, better utilization of the gain medium (24) is achieved and the beam quality and brightness over multimode lasing are improved. This configuration improves the performance of high Fresnel number resonators, in both pulsed and continuous lasers, for applications such as scribing, drilling, cutting, target designation and rangefinding. An application of the intra-cavity coherent summation of orthogonally polarized modes is described, whereby azimuthally or radially polarized beams may be obtained.

    Abstract: Disclosed herein are genetically modified plants having altered biological activity of 3-β-hydroxysteroid dehydrogenase/isomerase (GAME25), or 2-oxoglutarate-dependent dioxygenase (GAME31), or a combination thereof, wherein the genetically modified plants have an altered content of at least one cholesterol derived compound selected from the group including a steroidal alkaloid or a glycosylated derivative thereof and an unsaturated or saturated steroidal saponin or a glycoside derivative thereof. Further disclosed herein are genetically modified plants having altered expression of a gene encoding a 3-β-hydroxysteroid dehydrogenase/isomerase (GAME25), or a 2-oxoglutarate-dependent dioxygenase (GAME31), or a combination thereof, wherein the genetically modified plant has an altered content of at least one cholesterol derived compound selected from the group including a steroidal alkaloid or a glycosylated derivative thereof and an unsaturated or saturated steroidal saponin or a glycoside derivative thereof. Methods of producing these genetically modified plants are also disclosed.
