Abstract:
A housing fixed to a piece of furniture adjacent a slidable portion thereof is formed with an upwardly open slot in which is engageable a pulling member fixed to the slidable portion and projecting downward in the slot such that on movement of the slidable part the pulling member enters and exits the housing. An actuation member displaceable in the housing is engageable with and coupled to the pulling member only when the pulling member is engaged in the slot. A spring coupled between the housing and the actuation member urges the slidable portion into one of the end positions. A body of a high-viscosity grease in the housing engages the actuation member and retards movement of the movable portion into the one end position.
Abstract:
A rotary damper includes a cylindrical member having walls on an inner peripheral surface of a cylindrical chamber along a radial line, and a rotor member having vanes moving along the inner peripheral surface of the cylindrical chamber. A resistance force of a viscous fluid filled in the cylindrical chamber is applied to the vanes when the cylindrical member rotates relative to the rotor member. The rotor member is formed of a thermoplastic resin containing inorganic filler or fiber. Thus, the rotor member having high strength can be obtained.
Abstract:
A hinge, in particular for pieces of furniture, piece of furniture, with an arm fixable to the body of the connected to a portion of hinge that oscillates through two equalizers housed on transversal pins, of which—in the portion of one of its oscillation axes'—one equalizer has a projecting part forming a lever arm, and with an elastic member that stresses, the projecting part of the equalizer so as to cause a thrust in the closing direction on the oscillating hinge portion. In order to obtain the slowed closing of the door, one of the equalizers is provided with a second projecting part on which a second elastic member acts so as to exert a thrust that, for an oscillation portion close to the closed position of the oscillating hinge portion counteracts the thrust exerted by the first elastic member.
Abstract:
A damper apparatus is disclosed for damping movement between a first and a second element. The apparatus includes an elongate housing secured to the first element, the housing having a first and a second end. The housing defines a bore which extends between the ends of the housing. A rotor is connected to the second element, the rotor including a first and a second portion. The first portion of the rotor is rotatably disposed within the bore of the housing. A biasing device has a first and a second termination, the biasing device extending between the second portion of the rotor and the housing for rotationally biasing the rotor relative to the housing. A seal is disposed between the first and second portions of the rotor. The seal cooperates with the bore for sealing the bore relative to the second portion of the rotor such that in use of the apparatus, damping fluid sealed within the bore by the seal dampens rotational movement of the rotor relative to the bore when the rotor is rotationally biased. The arrangement is such that movement between the first and second elements is dampened.
Abstract:
The present invention discloses a magnetic type floor hinge installed on the bottom surface of a door for reducing the opening and shutting speed of the door, the magnetic type floor hinge according to the present invention comprises an installing bracket divided into a magnetic operating part and a hinge operating part having one end on which a guide rail is installed; a moving plate installed to move linearly on the guide rail; a compressing spring installed between the moving plate and the installing bracket in the direction of movement of the moving plate; a main shaft cam rotatably installed on an upper portion of the moving plate, the main shaft cam being combined with a hinge shaft of the door and rotated along with the hinge shaft; a roller installed on one end of the moving plate, the roller being contacted with a cam-shaped surface of the main shaft cam; a disk rotatably installed at one end of the magnetic operating part of the installing bracket; a yoke installed on the magnetic operating part of the installing bracket; the yoke having permanent magnets attached thereto so as to generate repulsive force toward the upper and lower surfaces of the disk; and a gear-box in which a plurality of gears are contained installed between a rotating shaft of the main shaft cam and a rotating shaft of the disk so as to convert rotating movement of low speed of the main shaft cam to rotating movement of high speed of the disk. Therefore, according to the present invention, a magnetic type damper is applied to the floor hinge to generate damping force in a non-contacted type so that frictional force can be minimized, and the opening and shutting speed of the door can be maintained constantly in spite of change of temperature.
Abstract:
A hinge for pieces of furniture comprising a hinge arm (2) and a hinge casing (1) which are connected to each other by means of at least one hinge axle. The hinge arm (2) is provided with a fluid damper (20). The fluid damper is mounted on the side of the hinge arm without the use of a tool.
Abstract:
A rotary damper device includes a case in which a viscous fluid it filled and sealed, a rotation shaft relatively rotatable supported by the case, a rotation vane formed protruded from the rotation shaft, and a check valve mounted on a tip part of the rotation vane. A passage where the viscous fluid passes through is formed in the rotation vane. The check valve is provided with an opposing face part facing the passage and a frame body interposing the rotation vane. An elastic member for energizing the opposing face part of the check valve for closing the passage of the rotation vane is formed in either the rotation vane or the opposite side of the frame body of the opposing face part.
Abstract:
A refuse container contains at least one door which may be easily pushed toward an open position in which the door rotates into an interior of the container. The door returns to a closed position under the force of a closing mechanism which may be a spring. However, the closing of the door is slowed by a damping mechanism.
Abstract:
In an emergency brake mechanism of the present invention, a rotation input shaft is increased in rotation speed by a planetary set-up gear to centrifuge weights. Through the action of the centrifugal force of the weights, linings of the brake shoes are brought into press-contact with a fixed portion to reduce rotation of the rotation input shaft, such that a large braking power is produced for a compact emergency brake mechanism.
Abstract:
A storage apparatus includes a storage unit defining a front opening, and a closure member configured to cover the front opening. The closure member is attached to the storage unit for movement between open, intermediate and closed positions. The storage apparatus further includes a dampening element operably coupled to the closure member and the storage unit. The dampening element provides enhanced resistance to the movement of the closure member during a final phase of the opening and closing movements of the closure member while not providing enhanced resistance during an initial phase of the opening and closing movements.
