A pivoting transfer means for a jet of bulk material between a first cover belt conveyor and a second cover belt conveyor. The bulk material leaves the cover belt conveyor in the area of the tail pulleys and enters the receiving mouth of a second cover belt conveyor as a free jet of bulk material. Both cover belt conveyors are arranged pivotably in relation to one another around a pivot axis. The receiving mouth of the cover belt conveyor is limited by the bottom belt, the cover belt and the side walls. The jet of bulk material is deflected from the vertical into the horizontal direction of delivery within the receiving mouth. The first belt conveyor may be arranged at a higher level with the second cover belt conveyor arranged thereunder. However, the second cover belt conveyor may also be arranged at a higher level with the first cover belt conveyor arranged thereunder wherein the transfer is still from the first cover belt conveyor to the second cover belt conveyor.

The present invention pertains to a process for cooling and purifying hot, dust-laden flue gases enriched with dioxins and other toxic components from a melting vessel, e.g., an arc furnace.Both the flue gases A, B generated during charging and those generated during the melting operation are collected, and the toxic components are removed in two ways.The flue gases A collected in the exhaust hoods 2 are fed into the filter 6, while previously blowing an additive 12, on which the toxic components settle before reaching the filter bags, into the flue gas stream A.The hot flue gases B drawn off directly from the arc furnace 1 are introduced into a combustion chamber 3 after passing through a water-cooled section 4, and are subjected to afterburning in the combustion chamber 3 to remove the toxic pollutants. These gases are then intermediately cooled in a second, water-cooled section 5, further cooled by adding more additional cold air A, and fed into the filter 7.The contaminated dust E is charged again into the arc furnace 1.

With the melting vessel locked, a cable winch with traction cables makes possible the tilting movements of the melting vessel both in the direction of steel tapping on the running rails and back into the upright position.

The measured values for the temperature, flow and pressure entered into the pump surge limiter are coupled with a dynamic blow-off line. The blow-off fittings are operated in sequence, and the control signals for the quick opening of the blow-off fittings are first sent to a small blow-off fitting, and then to a large blow-off fitting after the opening of the small blow-off fitting. In cooperation with the dynamic blow-off line, the pump surge limiter provides for continuous control, i.e., a continuous adjustment of the blow-off fittings as a function of the location of the working point in the characteristic diagram of the turbocompressor.

To keep clear the open cross section of the wear lining of the pipe section, inert gas is blown in, which also keeps the ceramic plate of the sliding shutter clear.
