Abstract:
A display substrate includes a base substrate, a first line, a second line, a bridge line, a thin-film transistor (TFT), a storage line, and a pixel electrode. The first line extends in a first direction on the base substrate. The second line extends in a second direction on the base substrate and is divided into two portions with respect to the first line. The bridge line makes contact with the two portions of the second line in first and second bridge contact regions. The TFT includes a source electrode making contact with one of the first and second lines in a data contact region. The storage line is formed on the one of the first and second lines. The pixel electrode is formed on the storage line and is electrically connected to the TFT. The display substrate reduces formation of parasitic capacitance between pixel electrode and data line.

The ripple preventing part includes a first ripple preventing device that resets the Q-node during a high period of the first clock within a (n−1)H period, and a second ripple preventing device that resets the Q-node during a high period of a second clock within the (n−1)H period. A back-flow preventing device is connected between a previous carry node and the second ripple preventing device to prevent an electric charge of the Q-node from flowing back to the previous carry node.
Abstract:
In an array substrate and a display apparatus, a gate line receives a gate pulse during a present 1H period and a data line receives a pixel voltage having a polarity inverted at every frame. When a thin film transistor is turned on in response to the gate pulse during the present 1H period, a pixel electrode receives the pixel voltage through the thin film transistor during the present 1H period. A pre-charging part pre-charges the pixel electrode to a common voltage that is a reference voltage of the pixel voltage in response to a previous gate pulse during a previous 1H period

Abstract:
A liquid crystal display that is subject to pixel-high defects due to manufacturing anomalies is provided with programmable repair means for each pixel electrode. In one embodiment, a transistor-array substrate is provided with plural gate lines that are separated from each other by a first interval, plural data lines that are insulated from the gate lines while crossing the gate lines, and separated from each other by a second interval larger than the first interval, thereby defining plural pixel areas. Each pixel area has a corresponding pixel unit comprising a switching device, pixel electrode, and repair electrode. The repair electrode branches from a neighboring gate line and extends such that the repair electrode is in overlapping spaced-apart relation with the pixel electrode and selectively connectable to the pixel electrode. Accordingly, a pixel where a high pixel defect occurs can be repaired by selective connection with the repair electrode, thereby improving display quality of the liquid crystal display.

Abstract:
A method for detecting a storage voltage, a display apparatus using the storage voltage and a method for driving the display apparatus. The method for detecting the storage voltage includes applying a test voltage to a storage line in a display panel having an active layer disposed between the storage line and a data line while varying the test voltage, the active layer being in an active state or an inactive state according to the test voltage, and detecting the storage voltage corresponding to the test voltage in an inactive state of the active layer. Thus, the display panel is driven by using the detected storage voltage, so that an aperture ratio may be increased and current consumption may be decreased.
