摘要: An apparatus for forming a tube construct from a planar sheet matrix includes a stand supporting two opposing mounts and spanning between the opposing mounts are a mandrel, a porous rod, and a spring-loaded roller held in parallel arrangement; a guide for aligning and engaging the mandrel on the opposing mounts; and a means for imparting a tangential force on the planar sheet matrix to prevent wrinkling. The porous rod has a lumen running its length and has pores that communicate between the lumen of the porous rod through to the surface of the rod for water to uniformly pass through. The spring-loaded roller runs along the length of the porous rod creating a line of contact between the roller and the mandrel. The mandrel is contacted with a planar sheet of matrix and is rotated such that successive portions of the matrix contact the porous rod and become lightly moistened by the water passing through the pores of the porous rod and become wrapped around the mandrel to form a tube construct.

摘要: Improved high-speed, broadband data communication between a mobile terminal, including aircraft in flight, and secure, private remote networks, can be implemented by using the bandwidth of a single transponder on a satellite. The improved high-speed data communications system uses a single frequency to transmit the broadband data from the mobile terminal to the satellite and the same frequency to transmit the broadband data from the remote network to the satellite. Likewise, the improved high-speed data communications system uses a corresponding frequency on the same satellite transponder to transmit the high-speed, broadband data from the satellite to the mobile terminal and to transmit the high-speed, broadband data from the satellite to the remote network.

摘要: In a catalyst carrier for insertion in a tube of a reactor, an annular container holds the catalyst in use and has a perforated inner wall defining a tube, a perforated outer wall, a top surface closing the annular container and a bottom surface closing the annular container. A surface closes the bottom of the tube formed by the inner wall of the annular container. A skirt extends upwardly from the perforated outer wall of the annular container from a position at or near the bottom surface to a position below the location of a seal located at or near the top surface and extending from the container by a distance which extends beyond an outer surface of the skirt.

摘要: Methods of and apparatuses for varying and controlling the effective series resistance (ESR) of a power supply rail configured to transmit power from a power supply of a host device to a wireless network interface device (e.g. a wireless modem). Varying and controlling the ESR of the power supply rail, relative to an ESR of a super capacitor coupled to the power supply rail, allows control of the currents drawn from the host power supply and a super capacitor. During a time when the wireless network interface device is transmitting or is about to transmit, the ESR of the power supply rail is increased so that it exceeds the ESR of the super capacitor, thereby causing current for the power amplifier (PA) of the wireless network interface device to be drawn primarily from the super capacitor, rather than from the host power supply. During a time when the wireless network interface device has completed transmitting or is about to complete transmitting, the ESR of the host power supply is lowered so that it is less than the ESR of the super capacitor, thereby causing the super capacitor to enter a charging state.

摘要: Usage data monitored at information handling systems is collected and analyzed to provide a basis for component selection for information handling systems by associating components with end user usage profiles. For example, a monitor tracks usage data at an end user information handling system and determines that the end user's usage falls within usage pattern defined by analysis of plural other end users. The end user is directed towards selection of components associate with the defined usage pattern to replace components of the information handling system or for use in a replacement information handling system. Analysis on an enterprise-wide basis helps an enterprise to allocate components and information handling systems to end users of an enterprise.
