    Abstract: A molding device for pre-shaped plastic films has a body, a platform and a driving shaft. The body can be rotatably mounted in a pre-shape machine and has an annular side surface and a top opening. The platform is detachably mounted in the top opening of the body. The driving shaft is mounted longitudinally through the body, movably extends longitudinally relative to the body and has an end attached securely to the platform to selectively raise the platform to lift a pre-shaped plastic film from the body. Accordingly, the plastic films can easily be separated from the platform, and to manually separate the plastic film from the molding device is unnecessary to prevent the plastic films from being damaged.

    Abstract: An automatic gathering pre-shape machine has a main body and a gathering device. The main body can make plastic films formed into a circular shape with an annular flange formed around a top edge of the film. The gathering device allows a pre-shaped plastic film be blown toward an outer end of the barrel to hit a block wall and drop and mount around a tip portion of corresponding shelf to be gathered. Consequently, the plastic film may easily and automatically be gathered from the main body. Therefore, the plastic films can be kept from being damaged and the pre-shaping process is accelerated.

    Abstract: A molding device for pre-shaped plastic films has a body, a platform and a driving shaft.     Abstract: A method and apparatus are provided for determining the first and second order polarization mode dispersion (PMD) vectors of an optical device, such as a single mode optical fiber, using only a single input polarization state. This is achieved by passing light beams having a fixed polarization state and frequencies that vary over a range through the optical device that is being tested. The output polarization states of the light beams that have passed through the optical device are measured, and used to form a curve in Stokes space on a Poincare sphere. The shape of this curve is used to approximate the first and second order (and possibly higher order) PMD vectors, using formulas based on differential geometry.

    Abstract: A sun gear shell assembly includes a cylindrical shell body formed by cold-rolling a low carbon steel, and a neck section having a protruding neck collar, formed by heat drawing and machining a middle carbon steel. A wall thickness of the shell body is increased for added strength. The neck has a 30 degree chamfer to prevent failures at the neck section, and the neck section is then welded to the shell body so that the sun gear shell becomes one piece. A plurality of holes are disposed in the neck section encircling the neck collar. An injection molded plastic washer including a plurality of tabs disposed on one side surface, has the tabs inserted into holes formed in the neck section to form the completed sun gear shell assembly.
