Abstract: An information processing system includes an information bearing medium and an information reading unit. The information bearing medium has a two-dimensional array of unit data zones. Marks are provided on some of the unit data zones so as to form a digital code. Mark patterns of any two Y-directional adjacent unit data zone strings based on the arrangement of marks in an X-direction differ from each other. The information reading unit generates a data string on the basis of a unit signal formed from a plurality of signals output from a group of detection units that detect the marks in synchronization and recognizes the digital code of the information bearing medium on the basis of a group of the data strings sequentially obtained from the array of the unit data zones.

The single RFID transponder emulator is used for development, testing, evaluation, and validation of each of the plurality of RFID interrogation devices.

Abstract: A method for operating an RFID device is disclosed. In the embodiment, the method involves establishing a radio-frequency link, receiving signal samples of the radio-frequency link, determining the offset of an initial phase of the link by filtering noise from the signal samples, windowing the filtered signal samples, and calculating an offset value from phase differences between the windows of signal samples, and modifying a configuration profile based on the offset value. During data transmission the configuration profile can be used to configure the transmitter in order to maintain the constant phase during transmission.

Abstract: A method for a phase calibration in a frontend circuit of a near field communication (NFC) tag device is disclosed. An active load modulation signal is generated with a preconfigured value of a phase difference with respect to a reference signal of an NFC signal generator device. An amplitude of a test signal present at an antenna of the NFC tag device is measured. The test signal results from overlaying of the reference signal with the active load modulation signal. The following steps are repeated: modifying the value of the phase difference, providing the active load modulation signal with the modified value of the phase difference, measuring an amplitude of the test signal and comparing the measured amplitude with the previously measured amplitude until the measured amplitude fulfills a predefined condition. The value of the phase difference corresponding to the previously measured amplitude is stored.

Abstract: Methods and systems are provided for testing and/or programming a thread-type string of RFID tags or devices. A thread-type RFID tag is formed on a length or thread having an RFID chip, a first antenna section and a second antenna section, the first and second antenna sections being positioned on the length of thread on opposite sides of the RFID chip. An RFID reader is positioned in electronic communication with a first coupler and a second coupler lying along a path, and the RFID tag and couplers are in relative motion with respect to each other such that the first and second couplers are on opposite sides of the RFID chip. A differential electric field is applied between the first coupler and the second coupler and across the RFID chip whereby the RFID reader couples to the RFID chip and interacts with the RFID tag to carry out testing and/or programming tasks with respect to the RFID tag.

Abstract: A system and method for gas exposure monitoring of a work area are described. The system may include components that receive an alarm data item from a sensor device. The alarm data item may be generated in response to a first user being exposed to a gas concentration measured by the sensor device. A processor may receive a location of the sensor device in the work area based on a location identifier of the sensor device. A second user located within a predetermined vicinity of the sensor device may be identified. The second user may be identified by the processor. The system may transmit an indication of the alarm data item received from the first user and the location of the sensor device in the work area to the second user. The transmission may be automatic on detection of the second user's location.

Abstract: A system and method for calibrating a barcode scanning tunnel comprises providing a scanning tunnel having a moveable surface, a camera, and a dimensioning device. Orientations of the dimensioning device and camera are estimated. Instances of a calibration object on the moveable surface are acquired by the dimensioning device and the camera, and a relationship is defined between the two devices. A calibration object is moved along the moveable surface through the devices' fields of view, controlling the camera's focal distance according to the relationship, so that the dimensioning device and the camera acquire instances of the calibration object, and the relationship is revised.
