Abstract:
A system for modeling and comparing supply of and demand for output of productive assets in an asset based business, the system including a database having one or more demand data structures each comprising a device field for storing data representing a device which consumes said output of the productive assets; and an expenditure data structure associated with each device for storing one or more attribute values corresponding to cost and benefits of the device over time.
Abstract:
A heat spreading apparatus for use in cooling of semiconductor devices includes a frame having a plurality of individual cells formed therein, each of the cells configured for filling with a material of selected thermal conductivity therein. The selected thermal conductivity of material within a given one of the cells corresponds to a thermal profile of the semiconductor device to be cooled.
Abstract:
Devices, systems, and methods for producing ophthalmic lens molds and molded ophthalmic lenses are described. The present devices, systems, and methods provide venting of gases produced during injection molding of ophthalmic lens molds. With the present devices, systems, and methods, improvements in mold quality, lens quality, mold quality consistency, and lens quality consistency can be achieved compared to existing injection molding devices, systems, and methods. An optic power insert bushing is described and includes a venting system that directs gas from a first end of the bushing toward a second end of the bushing. The gas is directed between an optic power insert and an inner sidewall surface of a bushing bore in which the optic power insert is located. The bushing or bushings, and optic power inserts, can be provided as components of an ophthalmic lens mold injection system. Methods of making and using the vented bushings are also described.
Abstract:
A method of forming an electrically-conductive pattern includes selectively electroplating the top portions of a substrate that corresponds to the pattern, and separating the conductive pattern from the substrate. The electroplating may also include electrically connecting the conductive pattern to an electrical component. Conductive ink, such as ink including carbon particles, may be selectively placed on the conductive substrate to facilitate plating of the desired pattern and/or to facilitate separation of the pattern from the substrate. An example of a conductive pattern is an antenna for a radio-frequency identification (RFID) device such as a label or a tag. One example of an electrical component that may be electrically connected to the antenna, is an RFID strap or chip.
Abstract:
The use of compounds of the formula and pharmaceutically acceptable salts thereof, alone or in combination for the treatment of transplant rejection, wherein the substituents are further defined in the application.
Abstract:
Methods for treating an individual having cancer are provided. The method may include administering a cell migration inhibitor and a chemotherapeutic agent to the individual to inhibit migration of cancer cell. Inhibiting cell migration may increase cell division. In this manner, the cell migration inhibitor and the chemotherapeutic agent in combination may have increased efficacy compared to the chemotherapeutic agent alone due to the increased cell division. The cell migration inhibitor may include any of the inhibitors described herein. For example, the cell migration inhibitor may be an organic molecule having a molecular weight of less than about 700, a monoclonal antibody, or a natural product.
Abstract:
A retention system for a vehicular spare tire includes a chamber having a bottom portion. A tray is configured for movement in a first direction relative to the bottom portion between an extended position and a stored position. At least one removable interconnecting member is configured to selectively interface with both the tray and the chamber for substantially preventing movement of the tray relative in the first direction. At least one guide member is configured to selectively interface with a back portion of the tray for substantially preventing movement of the back portion of the tray in a second direction relative to the bottom portion while the tray is in the stored position. The second direction is generally perpendicular to the first direction.
Abstract:
A method of thermocompressive bonding of one or more electrical devices using individual heating elements and a resilient member to force the individual heating elements into compressive engagement with the electrical devices is provided. The individual heating elements may be Curie-point heating elements or conventional resistive heating elements. A method of thermocompressive bonding of one or more electrical devices using a transparent flexible platen and thermal radiation is also provided. In one embodiment, the thermal radiation is near infra-red thermal radiation and the transparent flexible platen is composed of silicone rubber. The bonding material may be an adhesive or a thermoplastic bonding material. A method of capacitively coupling a semiconductor chip to an electrical component with a pressure sensitive adhesive is also provided. The method includes compressing the chip by forcing a flexible platen of a bonding device into compressive engagement with the semiconductor chip.
Abstract:
A pressure reducing fluid regulator having a housing with a flange including a plurality of ear-shaped protrusions is disclosed. Each of the protrusions includes at least one aperture configured to receive fastener such that the circumferential spacing between first and second fasteners is less than the circumferential spacing between the second fastener and a third fastener. The regulator includes a valve having a valve seat, a valve disc, a valve stem coupled to the valve disc and a valve guide that holds the valve stem. A lever having a first end coupled to the valve stem and a second end coupled to a diaphragm applies a force to the valve stem in a direction that is non-parallel to the longitudinal axis of the valve stem to cause the valve stem to frictionally engage the valve guide. The valve stem includes a stop that limits travel of the valve stem and disc toward the valve seat.
