Abstract: Overlapping data streams and sensor transitions is described. In accordance with the described techniques, a first data stream of first analyte measurements is received, at a computing device and during an overlap period, from a first analyte sensor worn by a user and a second data stream of second analyte measurements is received, at the computing device and during the overlap period, from a second analyte sensor worn by the user. The first data stream and the second data stream are received concurrently during the overlap period. A combined analyte measurement is generated based on the first analyte measurements and the second analyte measurements. In one or more implementations, the combined analyte measurement is generated as a weighted average of the first analyte measurements and the second analyte measurements. The combined analyte measurement is then output on a display of the computing device.

Abstract: Systems and methods for a continuous monitoring of analyte values received from an analyte sensor system are provided. One method for a wireless data communication between an analyte sensor system and a mobile device involves storing identification information associated with a transceiver of the analyte sensor system, the identification information entered by a user of the mobile device via a custom application running on the mobile device; causing the custom application to enter a background mode; searching for advertisement signals; receiving an advertisement signal from the transceiver; authenticating the transceiver based on the identification information; prompting the user to bring the custom application to a foreground mode; causing the custom application to request a confirmation from the user that a data connection with the transceiver is desired; receiving the confirmation from the user; and completing the data connection with the transceiver.

Abstract: Systems and methods for processing, transmitting and displaying data received from an analyte sensor, such as a glucose sensor, are disclosed. In an embodiment, a method for transmitting data between a first communication device associated with an analyte sensor and a second communication device configured to provide user access to sensor-related information comprises: activating a transceiver of a first communication device associated with an analyte sensor at a first time; and establishing a two-way communication channel with the second communication device; wherein the activating comprises waking the transceiver from a low power sleep mode using a forced wakeup from the second communication device.

Abstract: A device for monitoring a diabetic patient includes continuous glucose monitoring system that is configured to generate glucose data indicative of the patient's actual glucose level. An continuous subcutaneous insulin infusion pump is configured to inject insulin into the patient and that is configured to generate insulin data regarding when and how much insulin has been injected into the patient. A processor, programmed with a discrete-time reiterative filter, calculates a predicted glucose level corresponding to a predicted glucose level currently expected to be sensed by the continuous glucose monitoring system, based on the insulin data and the glucose data over time and is also programed to generate an alert when the actual glucose level is different from the predicted glucose level by a predetermined amount. An alert generating device is coupled to the processor and is configured to generate an aesthetically-sensible event corresponding to the generation of the alert.

Abstract: The present disclosure describes a multi-analyte sensor system that detects wear location. The system includes a first sensor, a second sensor, a memory, and a processor communicatively coupled to the memory. The first sensor produces a first signal stream indicating a level of a first analyte, and the second sensor produces first physiological data. The processor determines, based on the first signal stream and the first physiological data, a wear location of the first sensor and makes an adjustment related to at least one of the first sensor or the first signal stream based on the wear location of the first sensor.
