    摘要: An apparatus for pointing twist drill bits includes a processing unit which has a rotary index plate on which are mounted a plurality, e.g., five, of drill bit holders which are circumferentially spaced apart at equal, e.g., 72-degree intervals, and a loading unit which has located adjacent to the index plate a rotary pedestal on which are mounted an equal number of transfer arms. Located around the periphery of the processing unit and loading unit are a plurality of processing stations and loading unit operation stations, respectively. Under computer control, the index plate and pedestal are periodically rotated non-simultaneously in opposite directions and stopped for predetermined time periods during which sensors and actuators cause drill bits to be loaded from a container located at an input/output station onto a loading unit arm, cleaned, transferred to a drill bit holder, sequentially processed at processing stations, including a point grinding station, transferred back to a loading unit arm, discharged to a defectives container if defective, have a collar ring adjusted, and returned to the input/output station for discharge to a transport container. Prior to and after a grinding process, each drill bit is cleaned by a dirt removal apparatus which uses a plastically deformable body, preferably a toroidal roller which is pivoted into contact with a drill bit point, causing the point to pierce the body and transfer dirt thereto, the body is then pivoted away from the point with dirt adhered to the body.

    摘要: This invention relates to a method of forming a solid foundation in soft ground or stratum by mixing chemical agent into the soft ground soil to solidify it. This ground reforming method comprises the steps of driving a casing into the soft stratum to be reformed so that the casing encloses a volume of earth, moving the enclosed soil out of the casing, mixing and kneading the chemical hardener with the removed soil, then returning the mixed and kneaded soil into the casing, and finally pulling the casing up. The columnar piles thus formed of consolidated soil provide a solid foundation in the soft soil stratum, either independently or in combination. The columnar piles built up according to the method of this invention have uniform and high dynamic strength.

    摘要: A drill case (10) includes a case box (20) having a longitudinally elongated rectangular cross-sectional shape closeable at one transverse end thereof by a lid (23). The case includes a slidably removable longitudinally elongated drill stand base (50) having in the upper surface thereof a plurality of longitudinally disposed, laterally spaced apart grooves (51) for receiving rectangular block-shaped drill stands (60) having longitudinally spaced apart vertical bores (61) for receiving drill bits (1). Stand base (50) has protruding outwardly from opposite lateral sides thereof a pair of parallel longitudinally disposed ribs (52) which are slidably receivable in a pair of upper or lower grooves (27) and (28) formed in the inner side walls of box (20), depending on whether short or long shank drill bits are contained in stands (60). Case (10) includes a shank retainer (70) for protecting the tips, including the cutting lips and points, of drill bits in drill stands (60), the retainer having through its thickness dimension a plurality of longitudinally and vertically disposed grooves (72) for receiving the tips of drill bits. Retainer (70) has a front end provided with a transversely disposed, front upper web (73F), and a rear end having a rear lower web (73R). Grooves (72) in retainer (70) have tapered lower entrance openings (90) for receiving the tapered transition section (5) between a drill bit shank (3) and tip (2), and cylindrical upper entrance openings (89) for receiving the shanks of drill bits. Two pairs of longitudinally disposed ribs (74) protruding from both upper and lower edges of retainer (70) are engageable with grooves (30) in box (20) with the retainer in either an upright or inverted position, thus configuring the case with tapered entrance openings facing downward to receive tapered transition sections of drill bits and thereby limit their movement, or with the cylindrical openings facing downward to receive the shanks of bits provided with insertion depth limiting rings.
