Smoothing the image before enlargement/reduction is controlled in accordance with the enlargement/reduction ratio and the feature of an image area including a pixel of interest.     摘要: An image forming apparatus includes a phase calculation portion, a pattern recognition portion, and a correction coefficient output portion. The phase calculation portion calculates a shift amount of the scanning lines as phase information and, from the phase information, outputs a first set of coefficients. The pattern recognition portion outputs a pattern concordance rate by performing pattern recognition on the group of pixels of interest and peripheral pixels thereof. The correction coefficient output portion outputs a second set of coefficients for correcting the first set of coefficients in accordance with the pattern concordance rate. An interpolation processing portion performs interpolation calculations by referring to the first set of coefficients, the second set of coefficients, and the pattern concordance rate.

The image formation apparatus includes an image carrier and a laser device for scanning the image carrier along a plurality of scan lines. Each scan line is divided into segments having segment boundaries in which the same segment boundary in adjacent scan lines are offset. The frequency modulation device generates frequency data for use in modulating the input image data, which is utilized by the laser device to scan the image carrier, which permits output of an electrophotograph of high image quality by suppressing segment boundaries caused by moiré fringes or color shifting to below a level at which such boundaries are not visually detectable.

    摘要: A power supply controller for use in an image formation apparatus includes a first control circuit for controlling the image formation apparatus to form an image, a second control circuit for controlling electric power supplied to the image formation apparatus, a first power supply for supplying electric power to the first control circuit, a second power supply for supplying electric power to the second control circuit, and a third power supply for supplying electric power to a load in the image formation apparatus. The apparatus further includes a dew protection switch operable in an on-state and an off-state. The on-state sets an operation mode of the image formation apparatus to prevent dew condensation inside the image formation apparatus. Finally, the apparatus includes a low power consumption mode setting device for setting a low power consumption mode of the image forming apparatus. When the low power consumption mode is set and the dew protection switch is in the on-state, the second control circuit turns off the third power supply and maintains operation of the first and second power supplies. When the dew protection switch is in the off-state, the second control circuit turns off the first and third power supplies and maintains operation of the second power supply.

The generated image data is separated into a plurality of sets of image data having a lattice arrangement, and each of which has the same color. The two sets of coded data are then stored in a memory for subsequent transfer to an image output device.
