Abstract:
An index-linked insurance product having an annual guarantee is implemented having a maximized hedged investment budget. A net premium payment is allocated to a fixed income investment and an annual fixed income yield is projected. The maximized hedged investment budget is determined by deducting from the projected annual fixed income a product spread and an estimated cost of the annual guarantee. The estimated cost of the annual guarantee is allocated to a risk fund. The maximized hedged investment budget is allocated to a hedged investment designed to generate proceeds for supporting index-linked earnings credited to the insurance product. Upon expiration of the product term, if the amount credited based on the index-linked earnings does not equal to at least the compounded annual guarantee, the amount credited is increased to be equal to the compounded annual guarantee. The increased credit may be supported using funds from the risk fund and other reserves.
Abstract:
The invention relates to a conversion process of a feedstock, preferably an oxygenated feedstock, into one or more olefin(s), preferably ethylene and/or propylene, in the presence of a molecular sieve catalyst composition that includes a molecular sieve and a Group 3 metal oxide and/or an oxide of a Lanthanide or Actinide series element. The invention is also directed to methods of making and formulating the molecular sieve catalyst composition useful in a conversion process of a feedstock into one or more olefin(s).
Abstract:
A cache memory logically associates a cache line with at least two cache sectors of a cache array wherein different sectors have different output latencies and, for a load hit, selectively enables the cache sectors based on their latency to output the cache line over successive clock cycles. Larger wires having a higher transmission speed are preferably used to output the cache line corresponding to the requested memory block. In the illustrative embodiment the cache is arranged with rows and columns of the cache sectors, and a given cache line is spread across sectors in different columns, with at least one portion of the given cache line being located in a first column having a first latency, and another portion of the given cache line being located in a second column having a second latency greater than the first latency. One set of wires oriented along a horizontal direction may be used to output the cache line, while another set of wires oriented along a vertical direction may be used for maintenance of the cache sectors. A given cache line is further preferably spread across sectors in different rows or cache ways. For example, a cache line can be 128 bytes and spread across four sectors in four different columns, each sector containing 32 bytes of the cache line, and the cache line is output over four successive clock cycles with one sector being transmitted during each of the four cycles.
Abstract:
The invention provides, in some aspects, a wafer alignment system comprising an image acquisition device, an illumination source, a rotatable wafer platform, and an image processor that includes functionality for mapping coordinates in an image of an article (such as a wafer) on the platform to a “world” frame of reference at each of a plurality of angles of rotation of the platform.
Abstract:
An ethylene polymerization process is disclosed. Ethylene is polymerized in two slurry reaction zones with a C6-C10 alpha-olefin in the presence of a single-site catalyst capable of making a high molecular weight polyolefin. The process yields medium density and linear low density polyethylene having a bimodal molecular weight distribution and a melt index from about 0.10 to about 0.80. Films from the polyethylene have superior impact properties.
Abstract:
A dry wiper for use with disinfectant solutions having synthetic fibers and a disinfectant releasing treatment that makes the wiper active disinfectant stable is disclosed. Particularly, the wiper is stable for use in both quaternary ammonium disinfectant solutions and bleach disinfectant solutions. A method for producing such a wiper is also disclosed.
Abstract:
The present invention provides a process for removing an oxygenate impurity selected from aldehyde and/or ketone, from an olefinic product stream. A product stream is contacted with a metal oxide-containing catalyst in the presence of a C1 to C6 alcohol under conditions sufficient to convert the oxygenate impurity to an olefin and/or oxygenate of higher carbon number than the aldehyde and/or ketone. The aldehyde can be C2 to C5 aldehyde and the ketone can be C3 to C6 ketone. The metal oxide-containing catalyst typically comprises an oxide of at least one metal selected from the group consisting of Group 2 metals, Group 3 metals (including Lanthanide and Actinide series metals), and Group 4 metals.
Abstract:
A method and apparatus for collecting data for detecting and locating disturbances. A plurality of distinct regions of the space are identified, and, preferably, a hand-held device adapted for sensing positions of the device and respective representations of a field parameter at the positions is used. The positions are quantized within the regions and the corresponding representations within a region are combined. Separate scans are used to obtain baseline and detection scan results corresponding to the regions. The baseline and detection scan results are compared within a region, and the results of the comparison are used to produce scan results from which can be discerned whether a disturbance has occurred within the region. A triangulation is performed for determining the location of the disturbance, preferably using combinations of indeterminate sets of the scan results.
Abstract:
A keyboard assembly is provided. The keyboard assembly includes a keyboard having at least one input key assembly positioned within the housing and an infection controllable apparatus attached thereto.
Abstract:
In the present invention, a packaging component having an outer surface and an interior volume contains within the interior volume a plurality of absorbent personal care articles. Each absorbent personal care article has a garment facing surface and a body facing surface. A portion of the plurality of the absorbent personal care articles in the packaging component are first absorbent articles having a first pattern embossed or printed on at least a portion of one of the surfaces. In addition, a portion of the plurality of the absorbent personal care articles in the packaging component are second absorbent articles having a second pattern is embossed or printed on at least a portion of one of the surfaces. In this aspect of the present invention, the first and second patterns are different from each other in at least one aspect. Further, a portion of the plurality of absorbent personal care articles may also contain additional absorbent articles which have yet another pattern embossed on one of the surfaces. In another aspect of the present invention there are more that two different embossing or printing patterns on the absorbent articles within the package. Generally, in the present invention every absorbent article within a given package may have a different pattern embossed or printed on the body facing surface or the garment facing surface of each of the absorbent articles. Also provided are wrapper components for absorbent articles having different patterns thereon.
