Abstract:
A method of cleaning and flushing a fast-set material spray gun 10 is disclosed which uses, in the preferred embodiment, a mixture of approximately 62.5% DMSO, 32.5% DBE and 5% water. This mixture 12 is non-toxic when atomized and lowers the freezing point of the liquid to below 10° F. Because the solvent is mixed with the purge air and expelled from the gun in atomized form, it is important that a non-toxic solvent be utilized and also important that the freezing point of the mixture be low enough to allow use in colder climates without freezing.
Abstract:
The advantage of this construction is that the time between manual cleanings of the frontal area of the gun can be lengthened or eliminated. The spray gun utilizes high pressure air forced through thin openings and that surround the spray tip, to eliminate the eddies in the air flow around the frontal area of the spray gun. One concentric thin opening surrounds the spray tip and is directed parallel to the direction of spray. With a second concentric thin opening, the air is directed at an angle of about 55 degrees relative to the axis or direction of spray.
Abstract:
The hose manifold integrates fluid filtration using cylindrical mesh screens and incorporates a check valve backup fluid shut-off system into the hose manifold. Two threaded check valve assemblies (one assembly on the iso side, one on the resin side) with slip on cylindrical filter screens are assembled into the hose manifold to filter the iso and resin fluids. When the hose manifold is assembled to the main fluid section of the foam applicator, pin features within the main fluid section open the spring loaded check balls in the hose manifold to allow for full fluid flow to the main fluid section.
Abstract:
The cartridge 10 provides an inexpensive, effective, clean, reliable means of supplying pressurized cleaning fluid for two component applicators 14. The low friction piston 18 design reduces drag and provides consistent cleaning fluid 12 pressure.
Abstract:
A two component spray gun with low/high flow rates allows the operator to spray in confined areas at lower flow without having to change the mix module. The lower flow reduces undesirable “spray back” and will also help reduce material waste. Pneumatic piston 12 travel, which determines on/off fluid flow, can be selected on the fly to either close the fluid ports 14 which stops fluid flow, partially open the fluid ports 14 which limits fluid flow, or to fully open the fluid ports 14 to allow for maximum flow. Pneumatic piston 12 travel can be limited by means of a simple multi-position mechanical stop plunger 16. The stop bar 22 can be connected to a knob 18 or other operator input and turned or adjusted to the desired position

Abstract:
The fluid section or head (10) for a plural component applicator can be easily assembled or removed from the air section (12) by turning the fluid head ⅛ of a turn. The fluid head (10) has four tabs (14) that protrude and engage with four undercut features (16) within the handle (12). Tabs (14) are inserted through corresponding openings (16) in the front (12a) of air section (12) and rotated such that tabs (14) are retained behind lips (18). A locking tab feature (20) in the hose manifold (24) mates to a recess feature (22) in the handle (12) to prevent the fluid section (10) from rotating.
Abstract:
A pumping system comprises an internal combustion engine, a generator, a pumping unit and a heat recovery system. The generator is driven by the internal combustion engine. The pumping unit is powered by the generator. The heat recovery system thermally couples the internal combustion engine with the pumping unit.
