摘要： Data transmitted from a local terminal to a remote terminal is converted into such a diphase data signal that a data bit of binary "0" is represented by a signal with two transitions, and a data bit of binary "1" is represented by a signal with one transition. Data transmitted from the remote terminal to the local terminal is modulated by the diphase data signal of the local terminal, and delivered to the local terminal in the form of a diphase data signal. In the local terminal, the coded diphase data signal from the remote terminal is demodulated by the diphase data signal of the local terminal, and regenerated into the transmission data of the remote terminal.

摘要： A highly reliable monolithic ceramic capacitor which has no structural defect, e.g. peeling, and which is not susceptible to water from the outside and a method for manufacturing the same are provided. A lead portion of an internal electrode is configured to have a shape provided with a taper-shaped portion in which the width gradually decreases with increasing proximity to the end surface of a ceramic element, and the shape of the end portion opposite to the lead portion of the internal electrode is adjusted to be substantially rectangular. Regarding a pair of internal electrodes facing each other with the ceramic layer therebetween, the internal electrodes are laminated while the positions thereof are displaced with respect to each other in order that a corner portion in the substantially rectangular portion of one internal electrode are located in the vicinity of, but outside the taper-shaped portion of the other internal electrode.

A keyboard is arranged on the upper wall of the case, and a display unit is supported by the case. This display unit is rotatable between a first position where the display unit covers the keyboard and a second position where the display unit exposes the keyboard. The case is provided with a speaker which is situated on the front wall and visible from the outside of the case when the display is in either the first position or the second position.

摘要： An expanding apparatus for expanding functions of a personal computer includes a support assembly for supporting a connector of the expanding apparatus to be movable in a predetermined direction between a stand-by position and a pushed-in position for engaging and disengaging a connector of the expanding apparatus from the personal computer. The support assembly includes a support member to which the connector of the expanding apparatus is attached. The support assembly has a plurality of guide holes. A plurality of guide members extend from a main body of the expanding apparatus, in the predetermined direction, through respective guide holes. Each of the guide members has an extended end, with a stopper provided on the extended end for abutting the support member when the support assembly is in the stand-by position. The stopper thus limits the movement of the connector. The extended end of each guide member has a diameter substantially equal to the diameter of the guide holes, and each of the guide members is tapered off toward the main body.
