Abstract:
An equatorial anthropic radiation source and a method of making an equatorial anthropic radiation source are described. The radiation source is useful in diagnostic imaging applications in healthcare or other industries (e.g. computerized three-dimensional segmental imaging; Crompton scattering imaging techniques; radiation detector check and calibration, in particular CdZnTe detectors commonly used in medical imaging).
Abstract:
The present invention provides a radiation-shielding container for a radiopharmaceutical that allows or a product fluid to be dispensed from a base component thereof.
Abstract:
A compact portable transport unit for shipping hyperpolarized noble gases and shielding same from electromagnetic interference and/or external magnetic fields includes a means for shifting the resonance frequency of the hyperpolarized gas outside the bandwidth of typical frequencies associated with prevalent time-dependent fields produced by electrical sources. Preferably the transport unit includes a magnetic holding field which is generated from a solenoid in the transport unit. The solenoid includes a plurality of coil segments and is sized and configured to receive the gas chamber of a container. The gas container is configured with a valve, a spherical body, and an extending capillary stem between the valve and the body. The gas container or hyperpolarized product container can also be formed as a resilient bag. The distribution method includes positioning a multi-bolus container within the transport unit to shield it and transporting same to a second site remote from the first site and subsequently dispensing into smaller patient sized formulations which can be transported (shielded) in another transport unit to yet another site.
Abstract:
A KIT READILY ASSEMBLED INTO ESSENTIALLY A PACKED CHROMATOGRAPHIC COLUMN FOR GENERATING TECHNETIUM-99M LABELED PHARMACEUTICALS IN A SIMPLE TWO-STEP PROCESS. TECHNETIUM-99M PERTECHNETATE IN A FIRST STEP IS ISOLATED AND ITS VALENCE STATE REDUCED BY ADSORPTION UPON A REDUCING AGENT. THEN THE REDUCED TECHNETIUM-99M IN A SECOND STEP IS ELUTED FROM THE REDUCING AGENT BY COMBINATION WITH AN IMMEDIATELY LABELED BIOLOGICAL COMPOUND, THE ELUANT PH IS ADJUSTED AND BUFFERED TO PHYSIOLOGICAL LEVELS AND BENIGN CATIONS ARE SUBSTITUTED FOR UNCOMBINED REDUCING AGENT AND ISOTOPE IONS. A NEW TECHNETIUM-99M LABELED RADIOPHARMACEUTICAL USEFUL IN LIVER IMAGING IS PRODUCED BY INTERACTION WITH THE COLUMN PACKING IN ONE SPECIFIC ASPECT OF THE PROCEDURE.
Abstract:
A dual-filter dual-integrity test conduit assembly allows for in-situ testing of both filters with separate, duplicate systems for membrane integrity so that if the first tester filter fails, the second filter may be tested with a different, but identical method with its own gauges and nitrogen supply so as to further isolate malfunctions of the filter integrity test equipment as a cause for erroneous batch failures.
Abstract:
Asceptic transfer through a needle penetrating a septum is accomplished by inserting an elongate inner tube through the needle and delivering a product fluid through the inner tube. Inner tube is desirably made from a polymer such as PTFE and product fluid does not contact the needle.

Abstract:
A chromatographic column for generating technetium-99m isotopes and technetium-99m labeled pharmaceuticals in a simple two-step process. Technetium-99m pertechnetate in a first step is isolated by adsorption upon an adsorbent packing. Then the technetium-99m in a second step is eluted from the packing, either with an immediately labeled biological compound to form a radiopharmaceutical, or by a controlled volume of eluant to produce a 99m-technetium-bearing eluate of a desired specific concentration.
Abstract:
An improved 99m- technetium labeled tin(II) colloid, size stabilized for reticuloendothelial organ imaging without the use of macromolecular stabilizers and a packaged tin base reagent and improved method for making it.
