    摘要: A transformer primary is first biased with a current sustained at least long enough for any secondary voltage to drop to zero. Then the primary is open circuited. The resultant secondary voltage is coupled to a constant voltage device such as a shunt regulator. A voltage related to the shunt regulator voltage will then appear in the open circuited primary and will be available for measurement fully isolated from the secondary. If the shunt regulator is made to operate as a function of a condition to be measured, an isolated remote measure of the condition is present at the primary of the transformer.

    摘要: A system for measuring the accuracy of an internal timing source of a device having a light emitting display which is energized at a rate derived from the timing cycle of that timing source includes an optical pickup disposed for receiving light emission from one element of the display and generating a signal having the same frequency as the frequency of such light emission. In one embodiment, the pulses of that signal which occur within a given time period are counted and the number of such counted pulses is supplied to a display for human recognition. In a second embodiment, the time elapsed during one or more complete light emitting cycles is measured and displayed for human recognition. The pulses of a timing signal having a period of one microsecond which occur during one or more complete light emitting cycles are counted and the resultant count is displayed. A method includes the steps of comparing a time reference signal with a signal corresponding to the light emitting cycle of the light emitting display, determining the ratio of one parameter of the time reference signal to one parameter of the light emitting cycle, and displaying the value of either the ratio, a multiple of that ratio, or a submultiple of that ratio.

    摘要: The present invention provides a capacitor charging circuit that efficiently charges capacitive loads. In particular, circuits and techniques are preferably provided for using current from both the primary and secondary windings of a transformer to control ON-time and OFF-time of a switch. This arrangement preferably yields an adaptable ON-time and adaptable OFF-time switch that is capable of rapidly charging capacitor loads ranging from as low as zero volts to several hundred volts. The output voltage is preferably measured indirectly to prevent unnecessary power consumption. In addition, control circuitry can be provided to conserve power by ceasing the delivery of power to the capacitor load once the desired output voltage is reached. Control circuitry preferably operates an interrogation timer that periodically activates the power delivery cycle to maintain the capacitor output load in a constant state of readiness.

    摘要: A new level shifting circuit is presented which does not restrict the upper limit of the common-mode input range of an operational amplifier. This is important particularly in operational amplifiers designated to operate with low power supply voltages. Significant parameters. of the operational amplifier, such as the gain and the slew rate, can be controlled without adversely affecting the common-mode input voltage range. The level shifting stage operates nondifferentially to avoid stability problems found in differential stages. A further improvement is accomplished using current balancing to achieve gain enhancement.

    摘要: Disclosed is a switched capacitor filter block having a nonlinear quality coefficient, Q, whereby quality can be enhanced while limiting the size of feedback resistors in the filter block. A pair of capacitors alternately switchably connect an input signal to the input of integrator whereby the sampling frequency is twice the switching frequency. The filter block is readily fabricated in a monolithic integrated circuit with the feedback resistors being thin-film resistors formed on the surface of the monolithic integrated circuit. Such a circuit configuration is more accurate in programming and requires only one mask step in fabrication to program.
