    摘要: The present invention provides a technique for reducing a period of time required for detection of a motion vector. With a method for detecting a motion vector between an input image and a reference image used for a reference of the input image, first, a two-dimensional search region having a predetermined pattern is determined, and matching is computed between a coding target block in the input image and multiple blocks represented by multiple search points included in the search region in parallel. In a case wherein the evaluated computation results exhibit optimum matching results, the motion vector is determined based upon the computation results. In a case wherein the optimum solution has not been obtained, the search region for the next matching is determined based upon the evaluation results, and search is repeated.

    摘要: An image data encoding apparatus encodes image data at a high speed while minimizing the deterioration of the image quality on a reproduced screen. The apparatus includes an encoding circuit, a code quantity counter and a control circuit. The control circuit compares a total code quantity with a reference code quantity. When the total code quantity exceeds the reference code quantity, the control circuit further compares an excessive quantity with a brought forward code quantity. The control circuit instructs an interruption of generation of the code image data by the encoding circuit when the excessive quantity is larger than the brought forward code quantity.

    摘要: A audio reproducing apparatus includes an audio decoder and a voice speed converting unit. The audio decoder decodes an audio data stream to produce an audio signal. The voice speed converting unit converts the audio signal in such a manner that when a bit rate is higher than a normal bit rate, a pitch of a reproduced sound interval is the same as the pitch of the sound interval in a normal playback mode and a voice speed in the reproduced sound interval approaches a voice speed in a sound interval in the normal playback mode. The voice speed converting unit further performs voice speed conversion on the audio signal in such a manner that when the bit rate is lower than the normal bit rate, the sound interval is not noticeably interrupted.

    摘要: When a reverse reproduction is instructed, an MPEG video stream is once decoded and is converted to image video signals by a first display circuit. Thereafter, the image video signals are again recoded by an image input circuit and an MPEG video encoder, so as to be overwritten in a storage area of a hard disk. An MPEG video decoder reads out this recoded data sequence in a reverse time-series manner and decodes it successively. Then the thus decoded data are converted to image video signals by a second display circuit, so as to be displayed on a display.

    摘要: In a digital camera, when snapshot shooting is instructed during recording of a moving image, a shot still image is temporarily pushed aside in a memory area for use in pushing aside (7a) in a frame buffer (7). A currently shooting motion image and a still image are displayed in parallel on a display (9), so that a user can confirm a content of a snapshot. The moving image continues to be recorded even during a push-aside operation. After a moving image processing is completed, the still image is processed by an image correcting circuit (4). The frame buffer (7) comprises a plurality of frame recording areas, and is shared on the occasions of a moving image processing and a still image processing. In a normal moving image processing, these areas are utilized in a cyclic manner, and when the still image is shot, any of areas will be utilized. Thereafter, the rest of areas are utilized in the cyclic manner for the moving images. The recording function for the moving image and still image is improved at low cost, it becomes easy to take a snapshot, and the merchandise size is not increased.
