    Abstract: A water retaining adhesive composition prepared by polymerizing and partially crosslinking 100 parts by weight of a 20 to 35 wt % solution of the acrylic polymer with 2 to 5 parts by weight of the amine group compound, amide group compound or amino group compound at a temperature of 20.degree. C. to 80.degree. C.; adjusting the pH value of the resultant partially crosslinked polymer to 6.0 to 7.0; and then sequentially compounding 10 to 40 parts by weight of modifiers and 2 to 5 parts by weight of water retaining agent in the partially crosslinked polymer. The modifier is a polyol, a polyalcohol or a poly(ether alcohol). The water retaining agent is 2-pyrrolidone-5-carboxylate.

    Abstract: Disclosed is a carbon nanotube powder, including a carbon nanotube averagely mixed with a dispersant, wherein the carbon nanotube and the dispersant have a weight ratio of 30:70 to 90:10. The carbon nanotube has a diameter of 10 nm to 100 nm, and a length/diameter ratio of 100:1 to 5000:1. The dispersant is an alternative copolymer, a block copolymer, or a random copolymer polymerized of a solvation segment (A) and a carbon affinity group (B). The carbon nanotube powder can be blended with a thermoplastic material to form a composite, wherein the carbon nanotube and the composite have a weight ratio of 0.5:100 to 50:100.

    Abstract: A heat resistant phosphorus-containing polymeric flame retardant and a process for preparing the same are disclosed. The process is characterized in that in polycondensation a selected metal salt serving as cocatalyst is used to catalyze a phosphorus-containing compound, a saturated dicarboxylic acid or the derivatives thereof, and a diol to form a high phosphorus content, high molecular weight flame retardant. The selected metal salts can promote the polymerization of phosphorus-containing compounds and polyester, and can inhibit side reactions and depolymerization so as to increase the phosphorus content of the resulting products and reduce the manufacturing cost. The flame retardants thus prepared can endure processing at an elevated temperature and thus are suitable for being applied in flame retardant fibers, fabrics, nonwoven fabrics, adhesives, and plastics.
