摘要: A piston for an internal combustion engine of an automotive vehicle. The piston has a piston ring and a piston skirt section each of which has a sliding section in slidable contact with a cylinder bore section of a cylinder block in presence of a lubricating oil. The cylinder bore section is formed of eutectic or hyper-eutectic aluminum alloy. Additionally, a hard carbon thin film is coated on the sliding section of the piston and contains hydrogen atom in an amount of not more than 1 atomic %. Here, the lubricating oil contains at least one selected from the group consisting of ashless fatty acid ester friction modifier, ashless aliphatic amine friction modifier, polybutenyl succinimide, derivative of polybutenyl succinimide, zinc dithiophosphate, and derivative of zinc dithiophosphate.

摘要: There is provided a structure for connecting a piston to a crankshaft in an internal combustion engine, including a piston pin fitted into the piston, a crankpin integral with the crankshaft and a connecting rod having a piston pin bearing portion slidably engaged with an outer cylindrical portion of the piston pin and a crankpin bearing portion slidably engaged with an outer cylindrical portion of the crankpin. At least one of the piston pin bearing portion of the connecting rod and the outer cylindrical portion of the piston pin and at least one of the crankpin bearing portion of the connecting rod and the outer cylindrical portion of the crankpin have hard carbon coatings formed thereon with a hydrogen content of 20 atomic % or less.

摘要: An engine piston-pin sliding structure includes a piston pin slidably engaged into a pin boss of an engine piston and having a base and a hard carbon coating formed on the base so as to define a sliding surface slidable over a bearing surface of the pin boss and a lubricant interposed between the sliding surface of the piston pin and the bearing surface of the pin boss. The hard carbon coating contains 25 atomic % or less of hydrogen, and the lubricant contains at least one of an ashless fatty-ester friction modifier and an ashless aliphatic-amine friction modifier.

摘要: A valve train for an internal combustion engine is comprised of a lubricating oil, and a camshaft which is made of an iron-based material and comprises a cam lobe and a camshaft journal. The camshaft slidingly moves on a counterpart thereof through the lubricating oil. A hard carbon film is formed on at least one of a sliding portion of the camshaft and the counterpart made of an iron-based material. A hydrogen amount of the hard carbon film is 10 atomic percent or less.

摘要: A waveform analysis unit divides digital data of a video signal stored in a Y memory and a C memory into small blocks, and conducts average value separation and normalization on each of the small blocks. A 1/f fluctuation measuring unit first derives a self-correlation function for each of the normalized small blocks, folds back the self-correlation function to the negative side, and conducts correction processing for making an average self-correlation function over a predetermined section equal to 0. Subsequently, the 1/f fluctuation measuring unit conducts Fourier transform on the corrected self-correlation function, derives a power spectrum, and conducts straight line approximation of the power spectrum. The 1/f fluctuation measuring unit then derives a fluctuation value of the power spectrum from the approximate straight line. An abnormality determination unit makes a determination on video quality abnormality on the basis of the variance value of the small block, coefficients of the approximate straight line derived by the straight line approximation, and the fluctuation value.

摘要: This invention provides a mode determination system for maximizing the coding efficiency by minimizing the amount of generated encoded information. An intra-frame picture signal X of 16 pels 16 lines is divided into four sub-blocks of 8 pels.times.8 lines by a DCT block dividing unit. A DCT block dispersion calculation unit calculates the dispersions of the four sub-blocks, and a nonlinear function transform unit transforms the dispersions to values for estimating amounts of generated encoded information. An adder unit adds together the four values for estimating amounts of generated encoded information and outputs the sum. 摘要: It is sought to provide a motion vector post-processor, which can improve motion vectors of blocks containing boundaries of objects in different movements to provide as visually satisfactory interpolated field quality as possible. Motion vectors generated in a motion estimator are stored in a memory, and their magnitudes are calculated in a magnitude calculator. Magnitude data is fed to an order statistics filter. The filter detects the serial number of a motion vector (for instance third motion vector) less than a magnitude at the center among a plurality of (for instance nine) input motion vectors and outputs corresponding serial number data to the memory. The memory outputs the vector corresponding to the input serial number data to a field interpolator. According to the invention, it is possible to provide a motion vector of an area containing small movement as motion vector of a block containing mixed movements.
