Abstract:
The rare gas discharge lamp is supplied with a current, which is lower than the rated current, the voltage of the rare gas discharge lamp is determined at this instant and the swing width of this voltage is measured. A comparator for comparing measured values of the swing width of the voltage of the rare gas discharge lamp when the current control supplies a reduced current, which is lower than the rated current. A service life converter for converting the difference value output by the comparison means into an indication of the service life of the rare gas discharge lamp.
Abstract:
A short arc discharge lamp in which the arc tube contains opposed cathode and anode electrodes with upholding parts that are inserted into a respective glass tube holding cylinder, and in which the glass tubes of the holding cylinders are secured in the side tubes at opposite sides of the arc tube by contracted areas, provides the peripheral surface of the holding cylinders with at least one section of reduced diameter to prevent the holding cylinders from moving, to prevent force from acting in a concentrated manner on the sealed areas and to prevent the lamp from being damaged when the lamp is shaken during transport or the like.
Abstract:
In a short arc type discharge lamp wherein a cathode and an anode are arranged oppositely to each other in an interior of a light emitting tube, said cathode having a portion with a decreasing diameter at a tip end thereof, and an emitter material buried in said cathode, such that said emitter material has an exposed portion being exposed in said cathode portion with a decreasing diameter, a distance in a radial direction of a center of said cathode from a periphery of the exposed portion of said emitter material varies in a circumferential direction, thus enabling the same electron radiation function as hitherto while reducing the use level of the emitter material.
Abstract:
A button-less push switch board including a plurality of push switches which comprises an insulator plate having a plurality of penetrating holes, a transparent flexible cover sheet overlying the main surface of the insulator sheet and having identification marks printed thereon to indicate the positions and functions of the switches, and a printed circuit plate on the reverse surface of the insulator plate and having fixed contacts formed thereon. A transparent block is disposed in each hole of the insulator plate and is urged towards the cover plate by elastic members supported thereon. Each elastic member is of cup-like shape and has a movable contact corresponding to a pair of fixed contacts on the printed circuit plate. A lamp or a light emitting diode is disposed in each hole of the insulator plate and is mounted on the printed circuit. Each fixed contact and each lamp or light emitting diode are connected to an external control circuit.
Abstract:
A dowel driving machine arranged such that a single head is provided with a single shaft hole and a plurality of receiving holes, for individually receiving different kinds of dowels, arranged side by side in parallel, and that selection is made out of the different kinds of dowels of different diameters and lengths supplied from chutes to respective receiving holes. As a result, different kinds of dowels can be driven easily without requiring extra work of changing a setup in spite of reducing the size of the device.
Abstract:
An oxidation process for an article to be treated in which, by generating ozone with a high concentration, a high treatment rate is achieved. In particular, an oxygen-containing fluid is irradiated with a vacuum ultraviolet rays emitted from a dielectric barrier discharge lamp in which xenon gas is encapsulated, producing a photochemical reaction from which ozone and an activated oxygen result. By causing this ozone and activated oxygen to contact the surface of the article to be treated, the surface of the article is oxidized. An even higher treatment rate can be achieved by generating the activated oxygen with the simultaneous use of a far ultraviolet ray source, thereby increasing the activity of the activated oxygen. Advantageously, the oxidation of the article to be treated with the vacuum ultraviolet rays and far ultraviolet rays is performed in accordance with the relationship:(p.times.d)/(1+I.sup.1/2)=0.33where I is a radiation density (mW/cm.sup.2) of the far ultraviolet rays on a surface of the article to be treated in which there is no light absorption between the far ultraviolet ray source and the surface of the article to be treated, d is a shortest distance (cm) of passage of the vacuum ultraviolet rays emitted from the dielectric barrier discharge lamp to the surface of the article to be treated, and p is an oxygen partial pressure (atm) of the oxygen-containing gas, which is present between the dielectric barrier discharge lamp and the article to be treated.
Abstract:
An air conditioner system for sensing and controlling the temperature in the compartment of an automotive vehicle to an established desired temperature includes an over-correction means whereby the vehicle compartment temperature is temporarily increased to exceed the desired temperature and the temperature rise is terminated after the sensed temperature has attained or nearly attained the desired temperature. When the sensed temperature rises so that the difference between it and the desired temperature exceeds a reference value, the corresponding correction signal is generated and correction is applied repeatedly so as to make the difference less than the reference value and thereby to attain the desired compartment temperature.
Abstract:
A device for preventing the reversal of a power window motor, wherein when the motor is normally actuated, a coiled spring loosely fitted on a core coupled with a worm gearing is contracted by the core, and the friction between the outer periphery of the coiled spring and the inner periphery of a drum is weakened, so that an output piece is rotated to open or close window glass, while when it is intended to manually push down or pull up the window glass, the coiled spring is expanded by a dog of the output piece, and the friction is strengthened, so that the turning of the dog is checked to brake the output piece.
