Methods and apparatus to manage conference calls are described. An example method includes enabling, via a logic circuit, a first one of participants of a conference call to request an adjustment of a volume of a current speaker different than the first participant; and in response to a request from the first participant, adjusting, via the logic circuit, an amplification setting associated with the current speaker in a preference file associated with the first participant.
Abstract:
Methods, systems, and products measure health data related to a user. A spoken phrase is received and time-stamped. The user is identified from the spoken phrase. A window of time is determined from a semantic content of the spoken phrase. A sensor measurement is received and time-stamped. A difference in time between the time-stamped spoken phrase and the time-stamped sensor measurement is determined and compared to the window of time. When the difference in time is within the window of time, then the sensor measurement is associated with the user.
Abstract:
A method includes initiating a call from an interactive voice response (IVR) system to a first device associated with a user in response to a request. The method includes receiving voice input data at the IVR system via the call. The method also includes performing a search of a media content database based at least partially on the voice input data. The method further includes sending search results identifying media content items based on the search of the media content database to a second device associated with the user.

Devices, systems and methods are disclosed which relate to remotely monitoring the health of an individual. The individual wears a health monitoring device, with an attached strap, capable of sensing characteristics of the individual. These characteristics may include voice level and tone, movements, blood pressure, temperature, etc. The device allows individuals to constantly monitor their health without having to physically visit a doctor or other health care professional. Wireless communication, for instance with an Internet Protocol Television (IPTV) set-top box, allows measurements to be made and evaluated by a computerized healthcare service provider. For a more accurate evaluation, measurements are sent over the INTERNET to a service. The device communicates with services in order to diagnose the individual based upon the characteristics.

In an embodiment, a system and method permit a network subscriber to display on a channel of the network video data from a subscriber video database. The system may include, in addition to the network and the subscriber database, a server and a set top box. The set top box is configured to receive commands causing the set top box to retrieve video data from a network subscriber database, display the video data on a display unit; and to transmit the video data over the network to the server. The server is configured to transmit the video data from the server over the network such that the video data is displayable on a channel of the network.

A system for managing a data stream that is transmitted to an environment is provided. The system includes a receiver that receives the data stream. The data stream includes a first program, with the first program configured to be displayed in the environment. An input receives information of an individual in the environment. A processor analyzes the information, determines a demographic descriptor of the individual based on the information, and correlates the demographic descriptor of the individual with a content of the first program to determine whether a predetermined condition is satisfied. The processor further determines a second program based on the demographic descriptor of the individual and modifies the first program based on the second program when the predetermined condition is satisfied.

Methods, systems, and products measure health data related to a user. Often times a weight scale, blood pressure monitor, or other medical measurement device is shared among a group of users. A time-stamped physiological measurement is compared to a time-stamped message from a mobile device. If the timestamps are contemporaneous, then the physiological measurement is bound to the mobile device.
