Abstract: An electric double layer capacitor electrode, including: an activated carbon having: a pore volume utilization efficiency (PVUE) of from about 200 to 290 F/cm3, wherein PVUE is the ratio of the activated carbon gravimetric capacitance (F/g) to the pore volume (cm3/g) of the activated carbon; a low non-linearity value of from 0.1 to 5%; and a total pore volume of from 0.32 to 0.56 cm3/g. Also disclosed is a method of making an electric double layer capacitor electrode, and a method of characterizing the performance of activated carbon, and the electrode, in an electric double layer capacitor (EDLC) device, as defined, herein.

Abstract: Embodiments of a vehicle interior system and methods for forming the same are disclosed. A glass substrate is bent to a curved shape within a mold cavity, and a liquid polymer material is delivered to the mold and is in contact with the curved glass substrate. The liquid polymer is solidified to form a polymer frame that engages the bent glass substrate, and the engagement between the frame and the glass substrate holds the glass substrate in the bent shape. The temperature of the glass substrate during the bending process and formation of the frame are maintained below the glass transition temperature of the glass substrate.

Abstract: Embodiments of an article comprising a cold-formed glass substrate in a curved shape, a plurality of separate mechanical retainers, and a frame are disclosed. The cold-formed glass substrate has a first major surface, and a second major surface opposing the first major surface. In one more embodiments, the plurality of separate mechanical retainers are attached to the second major surface of the cold-formed glass substrate. The mechanical retainers may be attached to the frame to define a position for each of the plurality of mechanical retainers, such that the mechanical retainers define the curved shape. Embodiments of processes to form such articles are also provided. Such processes can include attaching a plurality of separate mechanical retainers to a flexible glass substrate such that the glass substrate maintains its flexibility, and attaching the mechanical retainers to a frame, such that the mechanical retainers attached to the frame define a cold-formed curved shape for the flexible glass substrate.

Abstract: Disclosed herein are embodiments of a method of forming a curved glass article. In the method, a first adhesive is applied to a first region of a frame or of a glass cover sheet. The frame includes a curved surface. A second adhesive is applied to a second region of the frame or of the glass cover sheet. The glass cover sheet is molded to the frame so as to conform the glass cover sheet to the curved surface of the frame. The first adhesive is cured at a first temperature for a first time period, and the second adhesive is cured at a second temperature for a second period of time. The second temperature is lower than the first temperature, and the second period of time is longer than the first period of time. Also disclosed herein are embodiments of a curved glass article.
