Abstract: A liquid level detector includes: a detecting element having one surface and the other surface opposite to the one surface, the one surface being opposed to a liquid, while being parallel to a height direction of liquid level; a Peltier element provided on the other surface side of the detecting element; and a control unit performing a detection processing for a liquid level of the liquid. The Peltier element forms a heat flow passing through the detecting element from the other surface to the one surface, toward the liquid or a gas. The control unit calculates a liquid level on the basis of an output value of an electrical signal outputted according to the heat flow passing through the detecting element, and a relationship between an output value of the detecting element and a liquid level.

Abstract: A load change detection apparatus is provided with a base member, an elastic member, a first plate, a fixing member and heat flow sensors. The elastic member deforms according to a changed load applied to the elastic member, received by the receiving member. The first plate supports a surface of the elastic member on a side of the base member. The fixing member fixes the lower plate and the elastic member to the base member. The heat flow sensors, provided between the base member and the lower plate, output signals according to heat flowing between the lower plate and the base member. The heat flows due to heat generated or heat absorbed when the elastic member changes the elasticity shape thereof. Stress occurring when the elastic member deforms, is shut off by the first plate, thus direct transmission of the stress to the heat flow sensors is avoided.

Abstract: A heater plate includes a sheet-like heating member that generates heat upon being energized, a protective film provided on the side of one major surface of the sheet-like heating member to protect the sheet-like heating member, an output circuit section provided on a surface of the protective film on the opposite side to the sheet-like heating member, and a protruding portion forming film provided between the protective film and the sheet-like heating member. The output circuit section has protruding portions formed to be capable of respectively abutting terminals of a heat flux sensor which is an inspection object. The protruding portion forming film has protrusions at positions corresponding to the protruding portions. The sheet-like heating member, the protective film, the output circuit section and the protruding portion forming film are integrally formed into one piece.

Abstract: According to a manufacturing method of a heat flux sensor, the heat flux sensor is sandwiched between a heater plate and a cooling unit. The heater plate is disposed on the first surface of the heat flux sensor, and the cooling unit is disposed on the second surface of the same. A heat radiation measurement plate is disposed on a surface of the heater plate opposite to the surface on which the heat flux sensor is disposed. According to this configuration, the temperature of the heater plate is controlled in an inspection process such that the heater plate is kept at an ambient temperature. This makes it possible to stabilize the temperature of the heater plate in a short time.

Abstract: A heat flux sensor is installed in such a way that heat flux emanating from a biological object present at a predetermined position is detectable. It is determined whether or not a biological object is present at the predetermined position by comparing sensing results of the heat flux sensor with determination criteria. The determination criteria is preset according to heat flux that can be sensed when a biological object is present at the predetermined position. When the sensing results of the heat flux sensor satisfy the determination criteria, in other words, when the heat flux sensed by the heat flux sensor is the heat flux emanating from a biological object, it is determined that a biological object is present at the predetermined position. Consequently, it is possible to realize accurate detection of a biological object.

Abstract: A heat quantity control device has a heat flux sensor arranged between first and second heating elements arranged adjacently to each other, and a control section for controlling a heat quantity of the first and second heating elements. The heat flux sensor has an insulation board made of thermoplastic resin, first and second via holes formed in the insulation board penetrating in a thickness direction thereof. First and second layer connection members are embedded in the first and second via holes, respectively. The first and second layer connection members are made of different metals and alternately connected in series. The control section controls a heat quantity generated in the first and second heating elements based on the electromotive force generated in the heat flux sensors so that a heat flux flowing between the first and second heating elements becomes not more than a predetermined value.
