摘要: An expandable containment device is provided for use in containing a flowable material. The containment device includes an expandable housing extending along a longitudinal axis and defining an interior region, and including a first housing portion movably engaged with a second housing portion to allow expansion of the housing generally along the longitudinal axis to provide the housing with an axial dimension extending between adjacent bone structures. The containment device further includes an input port in fluid communication with the interior region of the housing and configured to deliver a flowable material into the interior region of the housing.

摘要: A device and method for contouring articular processes of a facet joint includes a guide with a spacer extending outward in a longitudinal direction from a distal end of the guide. The spacer includes a width to space apart the articular processes in a widthwise direction. A cutting member that is offset the spacer in the widthwise direction includes a cutting edge oriented to contour one of the articular processes in the longitudinal direction. The cutting member may be fixed or moveable relative to the guide. If the cutting member is moveable relative to the guide, the guide may include a guide edge along which the cutting member moves to control the accuracy of the contouring. A second cutting member may be offset a second side of the spacer in the widthwise direction and include a second cutting edge oriented to contour the second articular process in the longitudinal direction.

摘要: Methods and devices retract tissue for minimally invasive surgery in a patient. A retractor includes a working channel formed by a first portion and a second portion. The first and second portions are movable relative to one another from a first configuration for insertion that minimizes trauma to skin and tissue to an enlarged configuration after insertion to further retract skin and tissue in a minimally invasive manner. Instruments are engageable to the first and second portions and operable to move the first and second portions relative to one another.

摘要: A posterior stabilized femoral trial apparatus for preparing a patient's femur to receive a posterior stabilized femoral prosthesis includes a trial body with proximal and distal portions, the distal portion having an articulating surface for articulating with a patient's tibial component. A module fits the trial body at the proximal surface, the module being selected from a kit or group of modules of differing sizes and shapes. The module includes a rasping surface that extends longitudinally. The trial body includes cutting surfaces at the posterior condyles. The module is removably attachable to the trial body at the proximal surface. During use, the apparatus of the present invention enables the surgeon to resect the patient's femur in a revision surgical case using the trial itself and more particularly the rasping surface and cutting surface thereon.

The interbody implant system includes an implant having an engagement surface and an instrument including a first member and a second member that is movable relative to the first member. The first member is configured to capture the implant and the second member includes an interface configured to engage the engagement surface to releasably lock the implant in at least one orientation relative to the second member. The at least one of the engagement surface and the interface include at least one planar face. Methods of use are disclosed.

摘要: Methods and devices for spacing vertebral members using modular intervertebral devices and insertion tools. The devices may include opposing first and second endplates, and an intermediate member configured to fit between and support the endplates. The insertion tool may include an elongated handle and a distracter. A method of inserting the device using the tool may include inserting the endplates positioned on opposing sides of the handle into the intervertebral space and positioning the endplates in the intervertebral space relative to first and second vertebral members. The method may include deploying the distracter and increasing a distance between the endplates. Another step may include inserting the intermediate member into the intervertebral space and between the endplates and supporting the endplates with the intermediate member. The insertion tool may then be removed from the intervertebral space.

摘要: Implants sized to be inserted into an intervertebral space between first and second vertebral members. The implants may include a body with opposing first and second ends. An end cap may be connected to the body and include a first side with a contact surface that faces away from the body and is configured to contact against one of the first and second vertebral members when the implant is positioned in the intervertebral space. The end cap may also include a second side that faces towards the body. A connection mechanism may connect the end cap and the body for the end cap to pivot to adjust an angular position of the end cap relative to the body. The body and the end cap may each include locking features that engage together to lock an angular position of the end cap. The locking features may be configured to overlap at each of the angular positions to engage together and maintain the angular position of the end cap relative to the body when the implant is positioned in the intervertebral space.

摘要: An implant assembly for a spinal column includes at least a plate and an interbody implant attached to the plate. The interbody implant is positioned in the spinal disc space and the plate extends extradiscally for attachment to the first and second vertebrae outside the disc space. The assembly may include recesses in the bottom surface of the plate, spacers, and spacing portions extending from the bottom surface of the plate that allow the plate to be secured to the interbody implant when the trailing end of the interbody implant is positioned in a recessed, flush or overhanging position relative to the laterally facing surfaces of the vertebrae.

摘要: An implant for a spinal column is disclosed that is capable of being inserted into a patient in a first orientation having a reduced or minimum height and then rotated to a second orientation providing a second or maximum height, wherein in each orientation the height of the implant extends in a direction from one endplate toward the other endplate of adjacent vertebrae. The implant includes first and second side-by-side elongate members that are separately rotated from the first orientation to the second orientation after implantation. The first and second implant members are interconnected by a housing that maintains the first and second members in side-by-side relation.
