摘要: Compositions useful as coatings for wire and cable comprise, in weight percent (wt %) based on the weight of the composition: (A) 10 to 62 wt % of a silane-grafted ethylene polymer (Si-g-PE) having a silane content of 0.5 to 5 wt % based on the weight of the Si-g-PE, wherein the Si-g-PE is made from an ethylene polymer (base resin) having the following properties. (1) Density of 0.875 to 0.910 g/cc; (2) Melt index (MI, 12) of 8 to 50 g/10 min (190° C./2.16 kg); and (B) 38 to 90 wt % of a halogen-free flame retardant (HFFR); (C) 0 to 0.3 wt % of an antioxidant; and (D) 0 to 1 wt % of a silanol condensation catalyst.

摘要: Flooding compounds for telecommunications cables. Such flooding compounds contain a polymeric filler and a branched olefinic fluid. The branched olefinic fluid has an average of at least 1.5 methine carbons per oligomer molecule and at least 40 methine carbons per one thousand total carbons. Additionally, the average number of carbons per molecule in the branched olefinic fluid is from 25 to 200.

The (B) ethylene/unsaturated carboxylic ester/carbon monoxide terpolymer is defined by features comprising choice of unsaturated carboxylic ester, unsaturated carboxylic ester comonomeric content in wt %, carbon monoxide comonomeric content in wt %, and terpolymer melt index (I2; 190° C., 2.16 kg) in g/10 min. Also formulations, cured polymer products, strippable semiconductive insulation shield layers, coated conductors, methods of making and using same.

摘要: Articles made from a moisture-crosslinkable, polymeric composition comprising in weight percent based on the weight of the composition: (A) 10 to 99.99 wt % of a nonpolar ethylenic polymer grafted with silane functionality (Si-g-npPE), the npPE having the following properties before grafting: (1) a vinyl content of 0.2 to 0.7 per 1,000 carbon atoms, (2) a melt index of 1.5 to 7.0 dg/min, (3) a density of 0.913 to 0.965 g/cc, and (4) a molecular weight distribution (Mw/Mn) of equal to or less than 8; (B) 0.01 to 20 wt % of a silanol condensation catalyst; and (C) 0 to 70 wt % of a flame retardant additive; exhibit one or more of desirable (a) silane grafting efficiency; (b) hot creep performance as a cable jacket/insulation after moisture crosslinking; (c) retained dielectric strength after glancing impact as a moisture crosslinked cable construction; and (d) crush resistance as a moisture crosslinked cable construction.

The polyolefin elastomer has a crystallinity ranging from 10 less than 50 weight percent and a dynamic viscosity of 50,000 centipoise or less at 177° C. The hydrocarbon oil has a kinematic viscosity of 200 centistokes or less at 40° C.
