    摘要: Provided herein is a system for transmitting data to a motor vehicle travelling along a roadway. The motor vehicle preferably contains an antenna which produces a magnetic field having a length (L) in the direction of travel and a width (W) perpendicular to the direction of travel. A first plurality of RFID transponders may be positioned in the roadway as a row which is perpendicular to the direction of travel. A second plurality of RFID transponders may be positioned following the first row and offset from the first row. Depending on the speed of the vehicles travelling the roadway at this location, more rows of transponders may be used. A method for placing the RFID transponders within the roadway is also disclosed.

    摘要: An injection molding apparatus is disclosed having an actuated part that is movable in forward and rearward directions with a coupling part attached thereto having a spring coupling and a magnetic coupling. A valve pin for opening and closing a mold gate is coupled to the coupling part to be movable with the actuated part. When the actuated part is moved and the valve pin experiences a stopping force, either a spring of the spring coupling is positioned for dampening the stopping force encountered by the valve pin or the magnetic coupling, which is magnetically coupled to the actuated part and/or the valve pin, decouples from the actuated part or the valve pin to limit or prevent continued movement of the valve pin with the actuated part.

    摘要: A device is disclosed that uses a flow-control methodology to control sprays at very high precision and frequency. The device is based on an enhanced Coanda effect. The control flow is selectively applied to the region in which we desire the jet to vector and control the profile (width) of the jet. The control flow is introduced through multiple control flow ports surrounding the primary nozzle and adjacent to the Coanda surface. By selectively opening and closing different control flow ports the motion and profile of the jet can be controlled.

    摘要: A vehicle traffic sensor for detecting and monitoring vehicular targets is presented. The sensor employs a planar design resulting in a reduced profile sensor. The sensor includes a multi-layer radio frequency board with RF components on one of the sides and both isolation and planar array antennas on the opposing side. The antennas are preferably tapered planar array antennas which include one transmit antenna and one receive antenna. The sensor also includes at least one logic or signal processing board populated with components on a first side and a ground plane on a second side positioned toward the RF componentry of the RF board to form an RF shield. The boards are housed within a housing that is permeable, at least on the side through which the antenna structures propagate.
