Abstract:
The present invention is directed toward a method of controlling a turbulent flow of a fluid between a substrate and a template, and more specifically, controlling a turbulent flow of a fluid between droplets disposed on a substrate and a template. To that end, the method further comprises the ingression and egression of the fluid through a first and second aperture, and in a further embodiment, a plurality of apertures, to create such a turbulent flow of the fluid.
Abstract:
The present invention is directed toward a method for reducing pattern distortions in imprinting layers by reducing gas pockets present in a layer of viscous liquid deposited on a substrate. To that end, the method includes varying a transport of the gases disposed proximate to the viscous liquid. Specifically, the atmosphere proximate to the substrate wherein a pattern is to be recorded is saturated with gases that are either highly soluble, highly diffusive, or both with respect to the viscous liquid being deposited. Additionally, or in lieu of saturating the atmosphere, the pressure of the atmosphere may be reduced.

A method is provided for generating a composite video data stream. A first data stream composed of a sequence of frames of video data each having an x-dimension of a preselected number of pixels and a y-dimension of a preselected number of pixels is received. A second data stream composed of a sequence of frames of video data each having a x-dimension of a preselected number of pixels and a y-dimension of a preselected number of pixels is also received. The x- and y-dimensions of the frames of the first data stream are downscaled to produce a sequence of first blocks of pixels. The x- and y-dimensions of the frames of the second data stream are downscaled to produce a sequence of second blocks of pixels. The first blocks are written into a first object buffer associated with a first memory space during first and third ones of four processing phases using a set of counters associated with the first object buffer. The second blocks of data are stored in a second object buffer associated with a second memory space during first, second, third and fourth ones of the four processing phases using a set of counters associated with the second object buffer. A pair of blocks each composed of one of the first and one of the second blocks are retrieved out of a third object buffer associated with both the first and second memory spaces during ones of the first, second, third and fourth processing phases using a set of counters associated with the third object buffer. Each pair of blocks are then output as a field of the composite video data stream.
Abstract:
A method/process for curing imprint on a template prior to contact with a substrate. A curing process is used to adhere the imprint to a wafer or substrate. Monomer is deposited on a template and then partially cured using a UV exposure. The exposure is controlled so that the imprint is cured past the gel point, but still retains a thin liquid layer of uncured monomer at the surface that will bond with the wafer. Further, this partially cured layer enables the alignment adjustments between the template and the substrate to be performed after contact between the two without pulling any monomer out of the features.
Abstract:
The present invention provides compositions that feature improved preferential adhesion and release characteristics with respect to a substrate and a mold having imprinting material disposed therebetween. To that end, the compositions facilitate bifurcation of the imprinting into a surfactant-component-rich sub-portion and a surfactant-component-depleted sub-portion located between said surfactant-component-rich sub-portion and said substrate. This surfactant-component-rich sub-portion attenuates the adhesion forces between the mold and the imprinting material, once solidified.
Abstract:
The present invention includes a composition for a silicon-containing material used as an etch mask for underlying layers. More specifically, the silicon-containing material may be used as an etch mask for a patterned imprinted layer comprising protrusions and recessions. To that end, in one embodiment of the present invention, the composition includes a hydroxyl-functional silicone component, a cross-linking component, a catalyst component, and a solvent. This composition allows the silicon-containing material to selectively etch the protrusions and the segments of the patterned imprinting layer in superimposition therewith, while minimizing the etching of the segments in superposition with the recessions, and therefore allowing an in-situ hardened mask to be created by the silicon-containing material, with the hardened mask and the patterned imprinting layer forming a substantially planarized profile.

The present invention is directed toward a system for introducing a flow of a fluid between a mold, disposed on a template, and a substrate, the system including, a fluid supply system; and a chuck body having a baffle and first and second apertures, the first and second apertures disposed between the baffle and the template, with the first and second apertures in fluid communication with the fluid supply system to produce a turbulent flow of the fluid between the mold and said substrate.
Abstract:
An apparatus for capturing and decoding the teletext data from a television signal and displaying the teletext data, along with the video picture, in a windowing environment on the monitor of a personal computer system. The teletext data decoder retrieves the lines of teletext data stored in the frame buffer with the rest of the video frames, decodes the teletext data in software and stores the teletext characters directly in system memory for further processing and display in user-defined windows on the PC monitor.
Abstract:
A method is provided for generating a plurality of displays from a composite video data stream comprising a plurality of frames each including two portions, a first portion of each frame containing data defining even fields of respective first and second displays and a second one of the portions of each frame containing data defining odd fields of the first and second displays. During first and second phases of a set of processing phases, data defining the odd and even fields of the first display are extracted from each received frame. Also during the first and third phases, the extracted data defining the odd and even fields of the first display are written into a first object buffer. During second and fourth phases of the set of processing phases, data defining the odd and even fields of the second display are extracted from each received frame. Also during the second and fourth phases, the extracted data defining the odd and even fields of the second display is written into a second object buffer. During the third and fourth phases, the first display data stored in the first object buffer is retrieved to drive a display device for generating the first display. During the second and fourth phases, the second display data stored in the second object buffer is retrieved to drive a display device for generating the second display.
Abstract:
The invention provides a method of applying an adhesion primer layer for an imprint lithography process that includes contacting a fluid with a surface of a substrate in a coating process and initiating a chemical reaction that forms a covalent bond between a component in the fluid and the surface of the substrate such that an adhesion primer layer is adhered to the surface of the substrate. A polymeric layer may be adhered to the surface of the substrate coated with the adhesion primer layer. The method allows adhesion primer coating for double-sided imprinting applications including patterned magnetic media.
