Abstract: The disclosure relates to technology for communicating data and control information on an uplink channel in a wireless communication system. A frame is constructed to communicate symbols between a base station and user equipment, and zones are configured for an uplink channel in an uplink subframe using a signaling message. A first zone in the uplink channel is configured as a physical uplink control channel (PUCCH) for transmission of control information and a second zone is configured as a physical uplink shared channel (PUSCH) for transmission of data information. The PUCCH zone configuration is transmitted to the user equipment by the base station, control information is received by the base station as uplink control information (UCI) on the PUCCH resource using a single carrier modulation, such as SC-FDMA, and the data is received at the base station on the PUSCH resource using a multicarrier modulation, such as OFDM.

Abstract: The claimed subject matter pertains to the use of mobile relay nodes to serve users on high speed trains. In particular, this invention defines a framework that enables a base station of a cellular network to make accurate predictions of future traffic load, and take appropriate steps to serve this traffic, such as reserving sufficient air interface, backhaul, and processing resources.

Abstract: A method for device-to-device (D2D) communication includes determining that a first user equipment (UE) is out-of-coverage, the first UE having been previously in-coverage on a first cell. The method also includes starting a timer upon determining that the first UE is out-of-coverage and determining whether the first UE has returned to be in-coverage after starting the timer. Additionally, the method includes determining whether the timer has expired and communicating, by the first UE directly with a second UE, using out-of-coverage resources from the first cell when the timer has not expired and the first UE has not returned to be in-coverage.

Abstract: A method for operating a mobile device adapted for device-to-device (D2D) communications includes determining a utilization measure for discovery resources (DRs) allocated for D2D discovery in a communications system, and sending a utilization measure report to an evolved NodeB (eNB) when a reporting criterion is satisfied, wherein the utilization measure report is configured to prompt an adjustment to a number of DRs allocated for D2D discovery when an adjustment condition is met.

Abstract: The method provided in this embodiment improves the capabilities of automatic driving and ADAS of electric vehicles. The method can be applied to vehicle networking, such as V2X, LTE-V, V2X, etc. The method includes receiving, from the mobile device, an indication of a requirement for transmission resources, comprising at least an indication that the resources are required with a periodicity, transmitting, to the mobile device, an assignment of a first scheduling configuration for the device-to-device connection, transmitting, to the mobile device, an indication to begin use of periodically recurring radio resources, and handing over responsibility for providing radio resources for the device-to-device connection from the network node to a target network node such that the availability of radio resources with the periodicity is substantially maintained.
