    摘要: A process for the manufacture of 1-(2-alkoxyethyl)-4-phenyl-4-imidazolin-2-ones, 1-(2-alkoxyethyl)-4-phenyl-2-imidazolidones, 1-(2-alkoxyethyl)-4-phenyl-imidazolidine-2-thiones, certain of the corresponding 1-(2-hydroxyethyl) derivatives, and their 3-acylated derivatives, and certain related compounds which are all useful as intermediates in a new process for the manufacture of the anthelmintic levamisole, (-)-2,3,5,6-tetrahydro-6-phenylimidazo-[2,1-b]thiazols, and its derivatives through conventional resolution procedures. The new process also permits the direct manufacture of optically active 1-(2-alkoxyethyl)-4-phenyl-2-imidazolidone and their 3-acylated derivatives, optically active 1-(2-alkoxyethyl)-4-phenylimidazolidine-2-thiones, and levamisole, the levorotatory isomer of tetramisole, using catalytic amounts of a chiral reducing agent, with the elimination of conventional resolution procedures.

    摘要: D-2-Amino-1-butanol, for the synthesis of ethambutol hydrochloride, d,d'-2,2'-(ethylenediimino)di-1-butanol dihydrochloride, is produced in high purity and good yields by the reaction of butene-1, a nitrile, preferably an excess of acetonitrile, and chlorine to form N-[1-(chloromethyl)propyl]acetimidoyl chloride which is hydrolyzed to dl-2-amino-1-butanol, which can be isolated as the hydrochloride, or free base, or a mixture, resolved with L(+)-tartaric acid and the d-2-amino-1-butanol reacted with ethylene dichloride and then hydrochloric acid to form ethambutol hydrochloride. A minimum of by-products which are conveniently split out permits the economical synthesis of a pharmaceutical grade product.

    摘要: A digital circuit operating frequency characterizer provides a combination of frequency and duty cycle characterization. The digital circuit operating frequency characterizer includes a programmable frequency generator, a programmable edge variator, a test engine, and a control circuit. The programmable frequency generator provides one or more output signals, and the programmable edge variator is coupled to one or more outputs of the programmable frequency generator for adjusting duty cycle. The test engine uses the outputs from the programmable edge variator and/or programmable frequency generator to apply a defined test signal sequence to a circuit under test and produce a status output after evaluating the outputs received from the circuit under test. The control circuit is connected to the control inputs of the programmable frequency generator, programmable edge variator, and the status output of the test engine. The control circuit synchronizes their operations and performs the combination of frequency and duty cycle characterization.

    摘要: Disclosed are novel nitrogen containing heterocyclic compounds and novel vinyl terminated polyurethane/polyamide polymers together with the use of both of these compounds in a novel adhesive and coating composition. The nitrogen containing heterocyclic compounds of the invention contain two vinyl-terminated substituents and at least one carbamylmethyl substituent and have a nucleus selected from melamine, oligomers of melamine, benzoguanamine, and oligomers of benzoguanamine, glycoluril and oligomers of glycoluril, cyclohexylguanamine, oligomers of cyclohexylguanamine, acetoguanamine, and oligomers of acetoguanamine. The vinyl terminated polyurethane compounds of the invention have a molecular weight of from about 3000 to about 80000, and contain at least two vinyl end groups.

    摘要: Novel resin compositions are provided which possess excellent heat resistance and thermal color stability, alone, or in admixture with bulk resins. The claimed resin compositions comprise homo- and/or copolymers of N-(2,3-dimethylphenyl) maleimide, alone, or in further combination with resins composed of copolymer components, such as vinyl copolymers and rubber-grafted vinyl copolymer resins. The resin compositions have improved heat resistance and produce molded articles with desirably light colors. Also provided is an improved process to make maleimide monomers by using selected polar solvents whereby the amount of uncyclizable trans-amic acid is held at tolerable levels and the desired maleimide is obtained in high yields, free from by-products.
