Abstract: Because the relationship of the fuel injection quantity to a designated injection period differs in a half-lift region and a full-lift region, the purpose of the present invention is to bring the flow rate characteristics of an intermediate-lift region close to the flow rate characteristics of the full-lift region and improve the controllability of small fuel injection quantities. Provided are a peak current supply period in which a valve body of a fuel injection valve causes the magnetic force necessary for a valve-opening action to be generated, and a lift quantity adjustment period in which, after the peak current supply period, a current lower than the peak current is passed for a prescribed period; further provided is a current interrupt period in which a drive current is rapidly lowered before the lift quantity adjustment period.

Abstract: In an electromagnetic fuel injection which is structured such that both end surfaces of an inner circumferential iron core portion and an outer circumferential iron core portion face a movable iron core, and a non-magnetic portion made of a metal material is provided between both end surfaces, an object of the present invention is to realize a structure of the electromagnetic fuel injector in which a surface of a target object is unlikely to be affected by a heat treatment with the surface facing the movable iron core. In an electromagnetic fuel injector 1 of the present invention which is structured such that both end surfaces of an inner circumferential iron core portion 401a and an outer circumferential iron core portion 401b face a movable iron core 402, and a non-magnetic portion 401d made of a metal material is provided between both end surfaces, in order to achieve this object, heat in a target member to be heat treated is generated by applying energy to a target member's surface which is different from a target member's surface that faces the movable iron core 402. More preferably, energy is applied to a surface different from a surface on a side that faces the movable iron core 402.

Abstract: In a drive unit of a fuel injection device, an electric current is supplied to the fuel injection device by applying a high voltage to the fuel injection device from a high voltage source whose voltage is boosted to a voltage higher than a battery voltage at the time of opening a valve of the fuel injection device. Thereafter, the electric current supplied to the fuel injection device is lowered to a current value at which a valve element cannot be held in a valve open state by stopping the applying of the high voltage from the high voltage source. Thereafter, in a stage where a supply current is switched to a hold current, another high voltage is applied to the fuel injection device from the high voltage source.

Abstract: In a fuel injection valve, it is possible to obtain spray in which the penetrating force of injected fuel is suppressed.The fuel injection valve includes a valve seat that forms a gap with a valve body, the gap allowing fuel to pass therethrough, and multiple injection holes that are located further downstream from the gap. The fuel to which pressure is applied flows out from the injection holes.When the flow velocity of the fuel in the gap formed between the valve body and the valve seat is indicated by meters per second, the flow velocity is set to be greater than a value obtained by multiplying the square root of the pressure applied to the fuel by 28. In this manner, the flow velocity in the gap increases, and flow velocity distribution inside the injection hole is uniformized, thereby suppressing an increase in penetration.

Abstract: In a fuel injection valve used in an internal combustion engine, fuel spray travel distance is shortened.There is provided a fuel injection valve including a seat member, in which the seat member includes a conical seat surface that seats fuel by coming in contact with a valve body, and inlet opening portions of a plurality of fuel injection holes on the conical seat surface, and is configured such that an axis of the injection hole connecting the centers of an inlet and an outlet of the fuel injection hole is along a plurality of different conical surfaces, and in which, in an outlet section that is configured of a plane parallel to an inlet section of the inlet opening portion of the fuel injection hole and is positioned at the outlet of the fuel injection hole, the seat member includes the injection hole in which a major axis direction of an ellipse of the outlet section has an inclination angle of greater than 0 degrees with respect to a straight line in a fuel injection direction, which is obtained by projecting the axis of the injection hole on the outlet section, and an inclination angle of a degree before being perpendicular to the straight line in the fuel injection direction.
