Abstract:
A method and an apparatus for metering a reducing agent in which the reducing agent is delivered, via a line and a final control element that regulates the metering, in particular a metering valve, to a catalytic converter assembly for removing nitrogen oxides from the exhaust gases, in particular of a Diesel engine; a pressure drop in the line dictated especially by gas inclusions is detected, and the line is ventilated via the final control element.
Abstract:
The apparatus for generating a mixture of reducing agent and air has a pumping agent feed pump having a pump housing and a mixing chamber into which reducing agent and air pumped by the feed pump can be introduced; the mixing chamber is embodied in a mixing chamber body which communicates directly with the pump housing of the feed pump and forms a cap of the pump housing. The feed pump has a drive shaft which protrudes into the pump housing, and the mixing chamber body is disposed at least approximately radially to the drive shaft The apparatus has a compact structural size and only a slight reducing agent-filled idle volume.
Abstract:
Device and method for purifying exhaust gases from motor vehicles. A housing includes an intake opening, an outlet opening, an exhaust gas inflow area, an exhaust gas outflow area, and a longitudinal axis. At least one module for purifying exhaust gas is arranged in the housing and has a module axis. The at least one module connects the exhaust gas inflow area and the exhaust gas outflow area, and the module axis is tilted relative to the longitudinal axis of the housing. The instant abstract is neither intended to define the invention disclosed in this specification nor intended to limit the scope of the invention in any way.
Abstract:
An apparatus for metering a urea or a urea-water solution for delivery to a catalytic converter assembly for removing nitrogen oxides from the exhaust gases of a Diesel engine, includes a housing block supporting function components communicating via a line, formed by recesses in the housing block, for transporting the reducing agent, and the walls of the line are formed by the housing block. This apparatus assures a simple line layout for reducing agent with a minimum number of sealing points that is accordingly appropriate for large-scale mass production.
Abstract:
The invention relates to a method for lubricating the teeth of a gear unit having a hollow wheel with an inner set of teeth and at least one pinion with an outer set of teeth that meshes with the inner set of teeth, and a gear unit with a hollow wheel with an inner set of teeth and at least one pinion with an outer set of teeth, which meshes with the inner set of teeth. To assure reliable supply of lubricant to the teeth during the operation of the gear unit, the invention proposes that the lubricant is introduced in a targeted way into the interior of the hollow wheel. The invention further proposes a gear unit, which has a device for the targeted delivery of lubricant into the interior of the hollow wheel.
Abstract:
A fuel delivery pump for a fuel injection pump for internal combustion engines, which includes a pair of gears that mesh with each other and are driven to rotate in a pump chamber. The gears deliver fuel from an intake chamber connected to a storage tank, along a supply conduit that is formed between the end face of the gears and the circumference wall of the pump chamber, into a pressure chamber connected to the fuel injection pump. A conduit is integrated into a housing of the fuel delivery pump and connects the intake chamber to the pressure chamber. The conduit can be opened by means of a pressure valve disposed in it, wherein the pressure valve is functionally connected to a throttle valve that throttles the fuel supply into the intake chamber as a function of the controlled pressure on the control valve via the pressure chamber.
Abstract:
Fuel feed pump for a fuel injection pump for internal combustion engines, with a pair of intermeshing gearwheels, the said pair being driven in rotation in a pumping chamber (3), which gearwheels feed fuel out of a suction space (13), connected to a supply tank, along a feed duct (17), formed between the end faces of the gearwheels and the circumferential wall of the pumping chamber (3), into a pressure space (15) connected to the fuel injection pump, and with a bypass duct (25) which connects the suction space (13) to the pressure space (15) and in which a pressure valve (31) controlling the maximum fuel pressure in the pressure space (15) is arranged. At the same time, according to the invention, the bypass duct (25) is integrated into the housing (1) of the fuel feed pump in such a way that the pressure valve (31) can be inserted into the housing (1) of the feed pump completely via the inlet orifice (19) of the suction space (13).
