摘要: A recording head for discharging ink by using thermal energy comprises a plurality of outlets for discharging ink and a substrate including a common substrate plate of P type, a plurality of electrothermal converting elements and a plurality of functional elements connected to the respective electrothermal converting elements and formed on the common substrate plate as well as the electrothermal converting elements. Each of the functional elements has a first semiconductor region of N type, a second semiconductor region of P type provided within the first semiconductor region and a third semiconductor region of N type provided within the second semiconductor region, so as to form a rectifying junction. The first, second and third semiconductor regions are formed by diffusion of impurity atoms in the common semiconductor substrate plate.

摘要: In a vent-free single-duct drainage piping system for vertical installation in multi-storied buildings with horizontally extending branches to receive drain from sources of different floors of the building installed, a joint for connecting vertical pipe sections of the drainage piping system is disclosed, which comprises an upper pipe portion having a spiral axis between opposite end portions thereof and adapted for connection to the upstream side of the vertical drainage system to receive drain therfrom. A lower pipe portion is comprised of a first vertical passage connected in direct fluid flow relationship with the upper pipe portion and a second vertical passage having at a side thereof side ports adapted for connection to horizontal drainage pipes laid at a particular floor of the building. The first vertical passage receives drain from the upper pipe portion and the second vertical passage receives drain from the horizontal pipes. Both first and second passages merge at lower ends thereof into a common outlet port adapted for connection to the downstream side of the system. The helix of the upper pipe section is provided to reduce the velocity of the drain falling from the drainage system, thereby lessening pulsations and sounds developed in drain water.

摘要: The motion picture quality of liquid crystal display apparatus is improved by placing a non-display period depending on the responsiveness of the liquid crystal and a backlight source. For this purpose, a sub-period is set, within one frame period, for displaying a luminance corresponding to prescribed picture data so as to provide a time integral of luminance corresponding to a maximum luminance not exceeding a certain threshold, and another sub-period for displaying a lower luminance is placed in the same one frame period.

摘要: A pipe joint for connecting water supply pipe together and which utilizes compression seals between the pipe and the joint, and is comprised of a holding housing having a band body that surround a seal ring and a holding ring. A locking bolt is threadably tightened onto the holding housing. The seal ring is embedded and sealed within outside surface of both ends of the separated pipes after the locking bolt is threadably tightened. The holding ring is positioned to engage and become fully engaged within the groove at each of outside of the separated pipes, and hold the separation pipes against being easily separated after the locking bolt is threadably tight-end onto the holding housing. The ring spring having a turned up portion eliminate swell out of the holding ring from the holding housing, and circumference rotation by itself. The ring expander creatable enlargement of circumference clearance between adjacent segment of the holding ring allowed the diameter enlargement of the holding ring against compress force of the ring spring. The setting member maintainable diameter enlargement of the holding ring after removal of the ring expander is at ease of prior to installing of the pipe joint for connecting the separated pipes.

摘要: A photoelectric conversion device has a plurality of photoelectric conversion cells, each cell having a semiconductor transistor comprising two main electrode regions made of one conductive type semi-conductor and a control electrode region made of another conductive type semiconductor and a capacitor for controlling the control electrode region at a floating state, the potential at the control electrode region at a floating state being controlled by means of the capacitor so that carriers generated by light are stored in the control electrode region and the output of each cell is controlled in accordance with the storage voltage generated by the storage. In such a photo-electric conversion device, an isolation region for electrically insulating adjacent photoelectric conversion cells includes an insulation region and a semiconductor region of high impurity density formed beneath the insulation region; and the semiconductor region of high impurity density is made of the same conductive type semiconductor as the main electrode regions.
