Abstract: The present disclosure provides a method and system to operationalize driver eye movement data analysis based on moving objects of interest. Correlation and/or regression analyses between indirect (e.g., eye-tracking) and/or direct measures of driver awareness may identify variables that feature spatial and/or temporal aspects of driver eye glance behavior relative to objects of interest. The proposed systems and methods may be further combined with computer-vision techniques such as object recognition to (e.g., fully) automate eye movement data processing as well as machine learning approaches to improve the accuracy of driver awareness estimation.

Abstract: According to one aspect, anomalous event detection based on deep learning may include a system for anomalous event detection for a device. The system includes a computing device having a processor, an encoding module, and a decoding module. The processor is configured to receive sensor data. The encoding module generates reconstruction data based on the sensor data, identifies at least one reconstruction error in the reconstruction data, and determines an anomaly score based on the at least one reconstruction error. The decoding module generates an action prediction based on the sensor data and determines a likelihood value based on the action prediction. The processor can then calculate a scaled anomaly score based on the anomaly score and the likelihood value and causes the processor to execute an action based on the scaled anomaly score.

Abstract: An autonomous driving agent is provided. The autonomous driving agent determines a set of observations from sensor information of a sensor system of a vehicle. The set of observations includes human attention information for a scene of surrounding environment and a level of human reliance as indicated by human inputs to the autonomous driving agent. The autonomous driving agent estimates, based on the set of observations, belief states for a first state of human trust on the autonomous driving agent and a second state of human's cognitive workload during journey. The autonomous driving agent selects, based on the estimated belief states, a first value for a first action associated with a level of automation transparency between a human user and the autonomous driving agent and controls a display system based on the selected first value to display a cue for calibration of the human trust on the autonomous driving agent.

Abstract: The systems and methods provided herein are directed to the uploading and transmission of vehicle data to a remote system when a physiological event for a driver has been detected using one or more sensors. Information such as the driver's heart rate, temperature, voice inflection or facial expression may be monitored to detect the physiological event. Vehicle data, such as gathering or control system data, may be sent once the event has been detected. Selected vehicle data associated with the event or all data during the time of the event may be sent. After receiving the vehicle data, the remote system may process or store it where it may be used to modify automated driving functionalities.

Abstract: Systems and methods for analyzing a driver's brake behavior are provided. In some aspects, the system includes a memory that stores instructions for executing processes for analyzing the driver's brake behavior, and a processor configured to execute the instructions. In aspects, the processes include: receiving data from one or more multi-modal sensors, determining whether each braking event of a plurality of braking events is a hard braking event; analyzing the one or more physiological signals of the driver to determine whether each of the hard braking events is a reactive hard braking event or an intended hard braking event; applying a Lasso regression analysis and a classification framework for each of the hard braking events to identify features that indicate whether a respective hard braking event is a reactive hard braking event or an intended hard braking event; and generating a signal notifying a vehicle of the features.

Abstract: Presence of an object can be indicated on a display of a vehicle. Multiple indicators can be displayed on the display of the vehicle, where each indicator corresponds to one of multiple portions of a drawing area associated with the display. Presence of the object can be detected within a travel direction of the vehicle. Location information of the object can be associated with one of the multiple portions of the drawing area. One of the multiple indicators that corresponds to the one of the multiple portions of the drawing area can be highlighted on the display as an alert of the presence of the object.

Abstract: Systems and methods for clustering human trust dynamics are provided. In one embodiment, a computer implemented method for clustering human trust dynamics is provided. The computer implemented method includes receiving trust data for a plurality of participants interacting with one or more agents in an interaction. The computer implemented method also includes identifying a plurality of phases for the interaction. The computer implemented method further includes extracting features characterizing trust dynamics from the trust data for at least one interaction for each participant of the plurality participants. The at least one interaction is between the participant and an agent of the one or more agents. The computer implemented yet further includes assigning the features characterizing trust dynamics to a phase of the plurality of phases. The computer implemented method includes grouping a subset of the participant of the plurality of participants based on the on features characterizing trust dynamics.
