    摘要: An operation signal from a remote operation input device, e.g., a keyboard is converted into a transmission signal, and the transmission signal is output onto a communication line. The operation signal transmitted through the communication line is decoded, and the decoded signal is supplied to an input device connector of a computer. The computer having no communication function can be remotely operated upon operation of the input device. A video signal output from the computer is encoded, and is displayed on a display device arranged near the input device through another communication line. The presence/absence of a malfunction of the computer, and a malfunctioning point can be checked on the basis of an input to the input device, and a displayed image.

    摘要: A convection cooking apparatus including an oven temperature sensing element and a food temperature sensing probe. In response to an output signal from the oven temperature sensing element, the oven temperature is maintained at a desired value. When the food temperature reaches a desired value, a control system develops a control signal to terminate the cooking operation. That is, the cooking operation is performed under a desired oven temperature, and the cooking completion is determined in accordance with the actual food temperature.

    摘要: Producing a xylanase enzyme of superior performance in the bleaching of pulp. More specifically, a modified xylanase of Family 11 that shows improved thermophilicity, alkalophilicity, and thermostability as compared to the natural xylanase. The modified xylanases contain any of three types of modifications: (1) changing amino acids 10, 27, and 29 of Trichoderma reesei xylanase II or the corresponding amino acids of another Family 11 xylanase, where these amino acids are changed to histidine, methionine, and leucine, respectively; (2) substitution of amino acids in the N-terminal region with amino acids from another xylanase enzyme. In a preferred embodiment, substitution of the natural Bacillus circulans or Trichoderma reesei xylanase with a short sequence of amino acids from Thermomonospora fusca xylanase yielded chimeric xylanases with higher thermophilicity and alkalophilicity; (3) an extension upstream of the N-terminus of up to 10 amino acids. In a preferred embodiment, extension of the N-terminus of the xylanase with the tripeptide glycine-arginine-arginine improved its performance.

According to another embodiment of the present invention, minimum and maximum heating times are set such that the control device will additionally serve to continue the heating independently of the measured temperature if the preset minimum heating time has not elapsed from the beginning of the heating and to shut off the power supply independently of the measured temperature if the preset maximum heating time has elapsed, so that the heating can be effected safely and dependably even if the temperature detector malfunctions.

In practice, however, the dishes which each user cooks by a microwave oven is limited to a few of them. Then, the user selects and registers a standard recipe name (HN) of only his/her favorite dish in the mask ROM into a favorite menu in a non-volatile memory (11B). In order to execute cooking of a desired dish registered in the favorite menu, the standard recipe name of the desired dish is read not from the mask ROM but from the non-volatile memory and displayed on an LCD panel (13), so that the user needs only perform an operation to instruct start of heating through an input unit (15).
